the 9 leafs per spring seems a little overkill on my CDN M101 and was wondering if anyone has taken off any leafs on theirs? I am running it as a camping trailer with RTT but still is going ot be very siff in my mind so was thinking of taking 2 leafs off each spring which is the easist to do (1 bolt)?

thoughts?

Are the M101 springs not banded together like the M416s? I was going to take my spring packs apart to clean them and decided against it since the M416 has those bands around them.

i havent taken any out of my trailer. i find the setup as is quite good. ive had it as loaded as its going to get, (if i had to guess probably about 650-800lbs worth of 68lb canvas tent, folding tables, fuel, water, 20# propane tank, weber 220Q, cooler full of food and beer, toolbox, ...etc) and through the pothole riddled forest roads, it does fine. i do air down the tires a bit though and that seems to help quite a bit. ive done a spring over, and run bfg 295s so i dont know if that differs from the stock spring under with 29" military tires. im still running the original shocks, and didnt relocate the bottom shockmount. when empty, im able to put weight on the front corner handles, jump up and down on them and the trailer bounces with the right amount of resistance.

on road, especially on the highway, it doesnt seem to stiff. loaded up, it seems to work quite well. id imagine with less springpacks, with a heavy load might make it a bit bouncy...just a guess though. how much weight do you usually load yours up with?
