I have used silicone hoses on my engine rebuild and did not use constant torque clamps. Still running fine. If you are doing the PHH bypass, make sure you place a larger hose around the functional hose so that you protect it from heat and chafing.
Mine have been in for over a year. I used the clamps in the kit. No leaks. All the other coolant hoses are silicone too. I used spring clamps. No leaks.
