Yes, I used to have one in my BJ42. (Oz) They were brilliant... strong, and was made professionally.
I also bought an overhead console that was made by the same bloke. It had a swing down cassette holder for about 10 cassettes and room for your Map book (Melways) I bought mine by Aussie Post. From memory he made them privately. I sold my BJ42 LX years ago (Bugger!) so am now looking for my newly purchased BJ's. (Mid life crisis restos) I bought them in the 80's when I was a young bloke, so Id say he's either retired or fallen off the perch.
I think they were made from 10 mm marine grade ply board, coated with epoxy & upholstered with an aftermarket auto carpet. They were advertised as water proof & were bloody good!
If I can't find them I will make some. I'm sure I can make them just as good!
