AATLAS- looks like a good deal, but will the mirror in that second link you posted fit the LC? I don't see any adaptors listed and stock fit is not listed.

C-Dan has a Scion rearview mirror in his 80. Has homelink and autodimming and another map light.

I have been lightly snooping into these too. Avalons use the same ones so you might be able to source used. Only issue is the temp sensor is mounted in the front grill area so the sensor wire will need to be lengthened.

Funny, I was just looking at job openings at Gentex last night. It's a serious possibility, I was an engineer at their competition. Right now, I'm building machines for their production and labs. Perhaps I can do some dumpster diving if I go there.

Nice but the one on ebay does not have Homelink.

From what I have been reading Gentex is the leader in the market in this area.

The Scion Accessory autodimming mirror is $280 at Conicelli Toyota online:

It looks identical to the $239 Gentex mirror:

To my eye they are the same, and I would venture to guess that Gentex makes them for Scion.

Yeah, it ain't bad, I'm sitting on a goldmine. My house is on an easily dividable lot, giving me a 9k sq. ft lot with Lacamas Lake view, the lot could be worth anywhere between $150-$250k definitely over 100% increase (if I were to split and sell) since I bought it 2 years ago.

Tech content... If someone is buying the mirror just buy whichever one you can get cheaper

I may try the GENK-50 that has dim, homelink, compass and outside temp. Best price I got was $299. I did not see compass or outside temp on the SCION model.

Be nice to know what Cdan has to say when he returns.

I called a few internet shops and the best price for a GENK-50 was $300.

How was the install? Pics? This mounts to the windshield correct or does the Scion use the OEM roof mount?
