I'm down in South Orange County and shopping for an 80 series.

Can anyone check this out for me, take pics, etc.?

PM Me, I will provide my phone number and email address.

In the Porsche world this is called a "Rennfax" from the Rennlist discussion board...

So, maybe in this case, a "Mudfax".

If you are able I would absolutely appreciate it.

Here's the ad: CLICK ME!!!

Thank you in advance,
Brett

Well, seller can't spell or read. This is a 40th anniversary edition, not 50th. No mention of lockers on a quick read of the ad. For the mileage I'd say it's a little overpriced, but they say firm. Hmmm...:hhmm:

Not a 40th either. Maybe a 30th?

Not a 40th due to seat color?

I'm guessing this rig is a pass....based on your comments?

Mileage is WAY high for that asking price. I would pass.

The 40th anniversary trucks were only available from the factory in green or sage, single color, so that is not a 40th unless it was repainted. Plus lack of two-tone seats and wheels are indicators as well. And the only interior available was a oak/brown two tone, grey was not an option.

Looks clean in the pics, but that's a lot of miles especially for that asking price. And there's probably a good reason why they aren't showing interior pics.

Plus the way the ad is worded, I wouldn't expect the seller to be 100% honest either, but that's just me. Like others have said, I would pass.

Found more pics of the interior... http://www.executiveluxurysales.com/inventory.php?make=Toyota

sdnative I'd love to find a truck like you have...can you PM me some info/insight on pricing I should be on the lookout for? I've seen locked trucks from 95-97 from 6k on up so I was thinking this one was OK - depending on what maintenance receipts say was done.

Yo man. I believe this truck has already been talked about and questioned over in the 80s tech forum. Sorry. Don't have a link to it, but I do remember it. Everything points to this truck being
somewhat shady. Do yourself and your bank account a favor: don't get so wrapped up around it.

Not sure what the market is these days, as I bought my truck almost 3 years ago, but just keep checking craigslist, autotrader, and the other car sites. There are some neat craigslist search sites as well that will save you some time. I put wanted ads on ih8mud and craigslist, and I looked for close to 6 months before I found mine. Theyre out there, but you have to be patient and actively search for them. Can't help you with pricing, as I mentioned it's been a few years. Good luck!

You'll be sleeping a whole lot better tonight.

Just as a reference my buddy just bought a 96 Lexus with that kind of mileage for $5500 but it was from the second owner who bought it at 3 years old after a lease. Nice big stack of records and it rides smoother and cooler than mine with 70k less miles.
