I was just wondering if anybody was running 40x13.50x17 Goodyear MT/R's on a FJ40.

If so I would like to see pics, and a little bit about what it took to get them in.

For those of you that know something about this tire, why is this the only one with "Rock Spider" logo on it. , Does it have a different compound in it?

Thanks

Also if anybody is running the 39.5x16.50 PittBull Rocker, I would like to see that also.

not that i know of, everyone i know of is too afraid of trying and messing something up

I ran them at one time and I liked them a lot in everything but mud. On rocks they are awesome. Rock Spider was a logo they had on the 40's when they first released them to the comp only crowd. The compound on them is DOT but there are some "sticky" MTRs available to competetors.

This is a simple Spring Over using stock 40 fronts and FJ55 rears. Tub is cut and the fenders are raised up.

SWEET!!:bounce:

Most of what you did I was planning on doing anyways.

I have really been thinking I want to try a set.

The reason I was asking the Rock Spider logo, was my local Walmart has a set of 40"s in stock with the logo.

Are you still running LC drivetrain, up changed to Dana's?

I upgraded to larger axles long before there was Longfield. I would think a sensible person could run 40" MTRs on built 30 spline Longs and some Polyperformance rears...

AAAAAAh....... Kate at her sweetest

what number hood was that ;) ..... hijackover

I'm always in love with MTR if you are plann run it on road or in rocks ... avoid the mud with those tires.. The other issue I thought why R17 .. :(

The MTR is a great tyre on everything but mud, thick sidewall, great puncture resistance, not to bad onroad, Pitbuls are bias ply, so they suck on road, but work well offroad, 39.5 x 16.5 17's I have been running. [thats not me either, just my truck in the workshop]
