There’s not a lot I miss about my old Raptor as I wasn’t using it to its full off-road capability and it wasn’t a great performer on the road, but I do miss the remote start. My LX isn’t equipped with remote start. I know Toyota’s remote start sucks, but I’d like to at least have a way to start the truck, take my fob with me and lock the truck till I’m ready to go, but when I try I get no response from the fob after it’s running. Any way around this?

The remote start works great on my LX, the problem is most people on here are poor planners, start the truck 15 min before you intend to leave, its warm or cool when you get in! You can start it twice if you want so you get 30 min! I would get the factory remote installed as a Christmas present….

Most people dislike that the engine shuts off when you open the door, as I remember it.

Yeah. Compared to other manufacturers remote start toyota‘s leaves a lot to be desired.

You can start it and then use the small metal key inside the fob to manually lock the exterior driver door which locks them doors. I do this on the rare occasion I have the dogs in the car when it's super cold or super hot and need to run in somewhere.
Yes I just figured that one out. That’ll have to work lol.
