Any Vendors with LC 250 aftermarket stuff yet? (1 Viewer)

While doing a little research, I found this. Formula 4x4 is getting ready to release an eKDSS compatible lift for the GR300. I imagine this will translate for the GX550.

Funny: I was just thinking about the premise of this product today, without knowing about this product.

The GX550 Overtrail, as we know, has both e-KDSS and an adaptive variable suspension. Both of these systems continuously electronically respond to changes in the forces to which they are subjected. So Toyota must obviously have considered their net effects--the sum of their adaptations, if that makes any sense--when designing both these systems. That leaves me wondering what happens when the adaptive suspension is swapped out for a non-adaptive aftermarket one. Not only would we lose the adaptive feature of the suspension but we would change the overall effect Toyota engineered for e-KDSS and the suspension working together. In other words, our e-KDSS might end up not working right.

Or maybe I'm overthinking it. Maybe if the suspension dynamics change, the e-KDSS will adapt to that. But I don't think any of us know at this juncture. There's no data on this issue that I'm aware of, and Toyota doesn't seem to have shared any information beyond a few marketing blurbs.

I have a 250 1.25” front suspension lift/spacer coming on Monday. I hope to take the rake and stinkbug look out of the GX. I’ll post up the results on fitment and outcome

I have been testing out my 1/4" thick spacers over the last few days, no issues so far.

The spacers gave me an additional 1/2" of ride height. So with my larger tires I have 10" of ground clearance.

Any thicker spacer, you will probably want to limit your bump travel.

Very nice. How well are those fenders cooperating with the 35s?

My LC250 spacers arrive today and I will test fit on my GX this weekend

Remind me, what tire size are you running?

I really really hate the headlamp situation on these things. Should be an option on the mid/premium grades not just the 58.

Hopefully someone has these soon so peeps can make the switch from square to round without needing to buy a 58 or 1st Ed.

Just my op.

Little update:

Skid plate system: I needed to make a slight adjustment on the transmission skid braces, as the sway bar disconnect mechanism was slightly kissing it on suspension bottom out. I also might add more support near the oil change access panels.

Front shock spacer: no issues

Rear lower control arm brace/skid: no issues.

First images I've seen of a Slee 250:

Have you seen this: 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Leveling Kits | The easy way to level your truck | Rough Country - https://www.roughcountry.com/leveling-lift-kits/toyota/land-cruiser/2024?

Is there a leverage effect that's actually resulting in more than a 2x spacer:lift ratio? Or could they be just allowing people's shocks to bottom out?

Actually, it's confusing whether this is a 1" spacer or a 1" lift. Madness Autoworks is selling something that looks similar or the same for the GX: Lexus GX 550 Suspension Leveling Kit - 1" Lift - Strut Spacers - https://madnessautoworks.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=300020162. That kit offers a 1.5" lift. But maybe the GX has more travel?

Yeah, those spacers will allow your shocks to bottom out first, atleast on the 250.

You should space the bump stop down some, if using those. I guess it doesn't matter on the Taco as it bumps off the shock.

Also they might allow over extension of the cvs on the 250.

Truly, you seem to be the most responsible vendor in the market. Hoping you get around to looking at the GX!

Thanks! I'm hoping to trade in my Sequoia for a GX. Just waiting for a light colored overtrail to come available.
