Any update on Topnault?

I don’t want to give away my secrets lol. But, I had a 1971 original tub that had a bad bed and converted it using the TP back panel and their 45 rear floor.

Did it work out alright? Can you post more pics?

Are the topnault tubs built with captured nuts welded in place

If so, how's the general placement/fit when you go to install things in the dash, strikers for doors etc?

This is one of my concerns about the aluminum/other solutions.....it becomes almost a two person job to do a lot of install

We just fit their 45-series bed.

Few issues;
-front four bed mounts needed to be moved.
-Rear crossmember was a little bent.
-the crossmembers that are above the axle and supposed to be on an angle, they were just square and hitting the frame.

All up pretty minor things we had to do to fit it, took five or six hours.

Cheers

Oh ya, don’t like that they applied bed liner to it. Crappy product and job I can scrape off with my finger nail. It will have to be stripped.

Cheers

Just got my own Chinese bed from a German vendor (had to bring it to Greece using several trucks, see the local transporter in the final phase, Lol...).
This is for my 1983 BJ45 future resto. Does yours is a pre or post 1979 truck?
I am asking because trucks before 1979 have certainly the fitting issues you described (e.g. "front four bed mounts needed to be moved").

PS. The bed I got is the version without their applied bed liner, probably a good thing as you judge it.

What are you doing for a tailgate ? Modding the original to be a 4-hinge version?

They only offer one.

Ya I am well aware just about every reproduction body piece is based on the last production years.

Cheers

Exactly.
So your truck is an early model (pre 1979) and that's why you had to adapt their bed to fit. Hope that I will not face such issues with my late model truck (1983), we will see.

Good luck and keep posting, I highly value your feedback!!

A few other things to note.

Tailgate exterior crossmember is welded on upside down, drain holes are facing up not down. Bed has a weird seams on wheel wells, stamped from two pieces unlike Toyota who stamped it from one piece.

We also used one of their front fenders, the LHS. Obviously the inner fender didn’t match our 67 so we had to separate the two and use our old inner fender. Took some more work too to get it fitted right.

Cheers
