any one interested in a do it your self bumper kit????

i freind of mine has a cnc plasma table and we are going to be building the bumpers for my fj60. i know there are shops that build some bad ass bumpers but they are expensive, i understand time and cost of materials. and the cost of shipping them pushes them out of reach for many of us.

if i could come up with a kit with all cnc cut pieces, you go to the local metal supplier and buy the main piece, and weld it together your self all you need is a grinder and a welder, who would be interested????

havent started on it yet just trying to see if there is a demand for it, if people are interested ill take lots of pics as im going and post the progress and start taking orders...... probally gonna be out of 1/4 plate, and not to crazy also trying to get the dies for my friends tube bender to do hoops also, what size tube do you think would work best 1 1/2 1 3/4?????????? i figure if i make all the parts and ship them unassembled it will save alot of money for guys like me...... im also thinking ahead and make the bumpers so you can add to them later on down the road, i.e. swing out tire carriers and gas can holders,ect.

I think you need to see if others have done the same thing...and actually got some where with the idea.

Now, Is it possible that it could be a three piece bumper kit and the end bolt on? Reducing the need to weld and have the pieces bent in a brake will cut down significantly on the labor.

Can you make the bumper functional? What does your CNC shop charge per hour, vs the one down the street from me?

If I had a bumper..it would be aluminum. My truck is being a dog with a older diesel engine and the last thing I need is more weight added to it
