No joy, limited interest, major time suck.... :)

Hello Wardharris,
Any interest? Hello?!
My troopie has aluminium panels Crushers designed and built; 3/8" thickness, lovely items. It means, however, that access to the space behind the front seats (which is all i have in my car) is accessible only from the front seats, or the rear doors. Fine, i can live with that, but it doesn't take much imagination to find that this isn't entirely practical.
I have already fantasized about exactly what this forum shows; if you can make such an access hatch with aluminium panels (instead of glass), i'm in. Can you make this sort of access hatch with 3/8" aluminium sheet? Cut/modify my existing ones to do the job?
By christ, i'm keen on this. You can PM me anytime. This practicable solution is, for a troopie, a gold mine. I am assuming these items would be lockable from the exterior. Whatever, i want to hear from you.
And thank you. Hoo!

Will pm you after I get done herding plastic:)

UPDATE / COMMENTS

While I "feel the pain" of other Series owners, my only interest as a consumer is for the 73/4 MWB side sliders.I started this thread when fussing over the future of the sliders on my BJ73 with removable fiberglass top.

On the other hand, my partner and I have a business that imports and sources repair parts / kits and accessories. We buy and resell bearings, OEM equivalent service / replacement parts and upgrades (ELockers and suspensions). As a jobber / distributor we are not equipped to design, develop and deliver a relatively complicated replacement unit for the 73/74 Series, much less 75, 76, 77 or other iterations of side-windowed Troopys and wagons.

We went looking for a 73/74 Series replacement (one model, one size, no options) to address the scarcity (or extinction?) of OEM Toyota window components for the sliders on my rig and its siblings manufactured for the last 30+ years. The "perfect unicorn" solution was a 73/74 version of Kevin Rowland's pop-up windows for four door wagons.

While there are a bunch of solutions on the web for four door wagons/troopys, we have not found one for the MWB trucks. As a consumer and as a jobber / distributor, we would love to find a supplier but so far, no joy.

These pix you've uploaded--I recognize some of the brands there (I'm aware of 4 total: WG, EW, YT and LCP)--but can you put supplier names to these, in case I'm missing something?

Sorry, just what's in the photos....

Someone in the US on this forum built some beauties for 80 series, I don't recall
who it is. Anyone?

YodaTeq and LandCruiserPhil are the only Mud members I know of who are building these.

That's right. Landcruiser Phil. Really something, thanks.
Ward, maybe contact him and check out his parts list and see if a crossover could be created?

I cant see living and traveling out of your vehicle without some manufactured Flip out rear windows. Im amazed how much use mine get and I dont have any rear swing outs. Our flip out windows are currently traveling South America right now and ever time they stop someone asked about the flip outs. Seems they see the value more so than the state side guys.
