I get it now! 14mm socket on the actual nut on the pulley, breaker bar in a counter clockwise direction. You aren’t removing the nut or pulley, just putting tension against the spring to “bend” it downward. Then a 5mm Allen wrench into the hole, once the notch on the housing is past it, to hold it on place.

route the belt, then just push the bracket a bit further to remove the Allen wrench & it is all done!

posting in case it is helpful to anyone else in the future!
 
I replaced belt and fan clutch today. Belt still had more life but was already in here for the fan clutch replacement so swapped it out. Very easy to replace the belt from the top with the fan clutch off.

I had noticed the fan clutch was starting to stick while cold the last 2-3 months. It would require a throttle pop over 2500 RPM or so to get it to disengage.

I’m at 79k miles
