Antenna Mast Install Question (1 Viewer)

Howdy folks...I know this has been beat to death, but I searched and can't find anything specific to the 96'...trying to thread the new nylon cable into the antenna spool...I removed the old one just fine, but can't get the new one to run in no matter what I do...tried whittling it down to make it a smaller diameter to feed it through but no dice...

I kind of remember what you have. You are talking about pushing it down in the tube, right? I think I had to rotate / spin the white nylon cable to get it started at first.

I hope you cut the 4" or so from the cable.

Staking the cable in the spool is a pain.

I'm installing mine as we speak... The new antenna goes in fine but sticks up 4" when radio is off. Do I have to cut 4" off to make it retract all the way???

Never mind!!!! Key not to all doing this repair. Using the antenna switch will not allow the mast to retract fully. Turning off the radio worked perfect!
