hey everyone, yes I'm making another thread on this topic. I've read all through the previous threads about this problem but here's my problem

Efi fuse blows only under load, if it's in park or neutral I can rev the heck out of it but as soon as I drive it and it goes above 2k the efi fuse blows. O2 wires are fine, fuel pump wires that are inside the gas tank were replaced, no sign of burnt wires or shorts that I can find. Not sure where to go from there, only other thing is that the fuel injectors were leaking a tiny bit so I have a seal repair kit on its way. Would that cause the fuse to blow, as if sending to much power to the fuel pump to try and compromise for the loss of fuel? And does anyone have a diagram of the efi wiring (what it goes to and what it comes off of)
Hope y'all can help. thanks!

Often it's the main engine harness where it goes by the EGR pipe. There was a plastic retainer, that crumbles with age allowing the harness to contact the hot pipe. Tie the harness to the remaining mount peg, and see if that solves the problem.

What year? How many miles?

What year is your truck?
Any maintenance done before issue? One day good, next day bad?
More details please.

1992, uncertain of miles because the lady my uncle bought it from switched them back :bang: speedo says 150k but we're guessing its close to 200 because the odometer stopped working about a year ago {i know its a simple fix, just never really bothered me} it's been passed down through my family from when my uncle bought it about 5 years ago with good maintenance, only problems it's really had have been cosmetic: water pump, injectors, alternator, things of that sort

Hi, I would check the wires under the black fuse box on the drivers side inner wheel well. I had this problem in my 1991. After rewiring to a heavier gauge wire, 20 years later and no more problems. Mike

found it! Exactly what Tools R Us thought it was. Wiring harness was sitting on top of the egr pipe and melted a few wires underneath. Went ahead and decided to do an egr delete since the truck is already catless. Thanks for all the help!
