sweet I might have to go that route too, I put the guts in the dodge but the voltage regulator is pooched, yesterday it wouldnt charge and today it was overcharging. Hopefully I can find the dodge guts again in my pile.
I got my 3" to 2.5" elbow on today then the "Tooth" showed up and that was the end of production, him and Hotwod are best friends now, hey Hotwod I gave him your number, hope you dont mind, mwahahahaha

great to see your progress and those are some nice vids.....cant wait till im there.
did you get your alarm disconnected and did it help?
what have you figured out with your mechanical fan? does it fit?
i still havent bought the components I need for the fan, but after seeing your pics I may just go electrical fans instead.
Keep up the good work!

I didnt get the alarm disconnected, I found out that it was the way I wired up the fuel solenoid off the starter, it was drawing too much power and not allowing the starter solenoid to close and it wouldnt pull the fuel solenoid open. So I went from the starter to a solenoid on the wheelwell that Dustin used as a battery post, to the fuel solenoid. Starts everytime!

red wire that's tagged "inj" is a "hold" for the fuel solenoid and is on while the key is in run, it holds the solenoid open.
blue is ground.
red from the solenoid is "pull" it opens the fuel circuit.
white alligator clip comes from the solenoid on the starter and powers the "pull" wire only as the motor cranks.

spent a few hours messing with this trying to get a voltage regulator working for my alternator.

gave up put it back the way I had it with the yota guts in it and the damn thing started working properly, charging at 14.4V.
I didn't blow a single fuse! yes I also do residential wiring anybody need a hand?

Light at the end of the tunnel!

how are the shift points? It may have just been the video, but it seemed like the motor was reving high for the perceived speed.

Went across town and shifting sucks, it only revs to 2400rpms, I need to let up on the throttle for it to shift into the next gear. But I have the redline set to 2900 on the compushift I'll move it to 2400 when I get the truck back.
Did you upgrade governor springs? Otherwise you aren't getting anything out of the engine at that RPM with stock springs. It will start defueling.

You are probably going to have a lot of tuning to get it dialed in. @turbophil appears to have his tuned nicely now, perhaps he can provide some of his experience.

if I recall, the stock governor spring will defuel at about 2600rpm. I am putting 4k inone with 60lb valve springs.
That's what I did. Night and day difference from stock. I wasn't getting anything in the mid 2000 range before until I hit 5th gear.

Cim - have you tweaked your timing or AFC at all yet?
Upgraded AFC spring when I did governor springs and HD valve springs. I haven't messed with timing yet. I wish I would have done them separately so I know the difference each made. I set the AFC to the specs that came with the directions and everything seems good right now. No excess smoke.
