Randy, will you be using the stock cross member for the tranny mount ? or Fabbing one up?
I realized it is a 62 so yah may have to fab...

Im hopping to use the stock cross member but Im not sure where the engine will sit.
Good tip on the laser level... and on the shock mounts as reference..
Im going to try to use my stock tranny support.

LCnAZ
I thought and searched on doing that type of swap but (at least for me) it proved to hard to outsource a Tundra V8 complete engine with harness ECU and tranny/TC.

They are hard to come by and Im sure will not be cheap...
It can be done... Look up on the 55 section there is a pig for sale with a turbo charged Tundra engine.
That thing looks sweeeet !!
So to answer your question yes it would be a most excellent choice !!!

X2 on the Tundra it is just hard to come by the engines complete.

As for the rear mount I will be fabbing it up. I have done that on all of them. I just can't get over the stockmount the way it sits. I like the tube mounts and it allows for a little error room. With your auto and the Downey adapters you will find that you need to relocate your mount alittle but it can be done. Just make sure the engine and tranny sit as close to stock location when you get ready to set the motor mounts. Is Dyno or Philos going to be there to help out with the alignment? Good to have a second set of eye's.

Shin convert to an 00,01,02 manual throttle body. That is a direct bolt on. Just take your T-body to the yard and they will gladly exchange it. They are worth more than the Cable version.

The Harness

Here's how well FIS marks the harness and the connections you need to make. Also the fuse block is prewired ready to run. Run the injector harness under the rail so you can't see it.

another set

Here are the TAYLOR 10MM 409 wires and another shot of the harness. She is looking good. I will get the front end back on tomorrow, and hopefully finish up the harness mounting and tie in. After that fuel lines and tranny mount. I have already measured the driveshafts to drop them off to Texas Truck Parts for modification.

Nice plug wires!!!!! Where have I seen those before......only in blue.....???

Getting there

OK I got bored and figured I better put some tin on there so I can finish the wiring. Also Scott you may need something to fill up these wheel wells.:grinpimp:

Look at that, shes got her engine-protecting fenders on back on.
It is really looking cool!
I know, I have to get the tires handled. She's sitting tall and deserves some new shoes.

BTW, did the fuel line show up yet?

No fuel lines yet and I am waiting on the ECU to come back from FIS. There was a program mistake on the MAF sesnor, But they caught it before I spent 10 hours trying to trouble shoot it. I am dropping off the radiator and drivelines today. I need to get them taken care of and ready for end of week. I will start tieing up the front harness and get the battery back in so I can dry crank it and see how she does. It is getting close to going to the muffler shop. I will need to get 2 relays and also find a contour fan to install then we should be good. Also the MAP sensor is cracked. I will need to pick one of those up. But overall she looks like a truck again.

have you figured out the o2 heater codes on zero's truck yet?

His codes are there we are just waiting to see if his performance and mileage picked up with those sensors. I know the truck/system has a good ground. I spoke with Jeff @ FIS on this and if those sensors work best with the truck, He would have the heater codes deprogrammed. I am still talking to a buddy of mine that works for GM Service and he was going to get me clarification and also possible remedy for the sensor problem. I will keep you posted as soon as I find something out.

my sensors also had a good ground, thats why i was asking. kind-of a pain. Would appreciate any info on it if you do find out. I will be working on it as well and will let you know if i find anything out also.

nice build BTW it is looking very good :)

Will do on my end. I also watched your build very nice on the sensor adapter. I have my machine shop doing the same as we type. Great idea! I think I will have them punch out a couple just to have. Keep you posted.

Scott- Fuel lines just arrived and I am running them now! So Frank pictures will post.

iaintscared, it is a pleasure to follow this build. Your work is among the best I have ever seen.

This really has me thinking . . .

Thanks dude...I see three lines coming out of the tank two go to the engine and third? Canister ?
What brand yah guys recomend? I see nice blue color on other threads..what brand is that ? Fuel pump placed near the tank is that best option?

Thanks Randy.
You guys are freaking me out with this talk of codes and stuff.......

Laters,

Thanks again and Rigger send it!

Frank the 3rd line is for the canister.I won't use that since I do not run the purge/vent setup. I can go a vented cap and be good.

I am using the Auto fit fuel line and fittings for mine in the -6 an. That blue hose is the Pushlok hose. I am using the braided it looks cool and has good wear resistance. Get it from www.anplumbing.com it is the Earls brand and it is cheaper buying direct.

The fuel pressure regulator is an aeromotive efi 0-80 psi. Fuel pump near the tank is the best. I put it as close as I can but also leave room to get to it and run lines etc.

If you need my PN# shoot me an e mail. And don't worry about the codes. There is a solution for everything. But you have all the original sensors for yours so you should be good.

OK, I am addicted to this thread, and I can't wait to do this to my rig...But you all keep putting this Contour fan assemblly in your rigs. Are you aware that they are a total P.O.S.? I have seen so many builds that envolve people using this fan and I just scratch my head in wonder.

I worked for Ford for many years and that fan assembly is something that I would run from. You could not pay me to put that on anything I own. The electrical harness on that thing catches fire, and if you are lucky it just kills the harness, but in most cases you are buying a whole new fan assembly.

I guess I am going to have to research another option, cuz no f'ing way is that P.O.S. going in my baby. Sorry to rain on your party, but that is just my experiance.

Now back to drooling over the beautiful VORTEC!
