Great build, I love your attention to detail. I will definately be borrowing some of you ideas.

I forgot, couple of quick questions. Did your rear suspension settle down like you figured? What do the wheel wells measure out to now?

OK, you guys know my wife is a true Marley supporter.... BUT, this is what I got today for my birthday from my mother-in-law... NO S**T!! It came from her!! Said she hoped that I could use it on other projects in the future.

Eat your hearts out boys!!!

Wicked jealous!

Well with my frustration with an unidentified TC leak I decided to do what calms me best... WELL BESIDES DRINK BEER!

Fabricate a auxiliary battery tray. :D

Ran to the hardware and parts store and got the materials. For less than 20.00 bucks for everything and yes two beers.... here is what Marley is sporting now..

Its not my best work.. I miss my shop in WY severely! I looked around the house, garage, truck and finally found the perfect device to calm my frustration...

An 8x8x16 concrete block and a rubber mallet... What was I thinking:eek:

Oh well my press brake would have been nice, but its a battery tray..

16 gauge steel and a universal battery hold down kit.

This is encouraging me as usual!

Joe, here is what reevesci said when I queried him earlier this week. https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/691066-new-battery.html

Srf,

The 27 I had in there is the largest battery you can wedge in the factory tray, IIRC.

My old 27 was 12.75"(L) x 6.875"(W) x 8.875"(H) 750 CCA
My new 65s are 11.8"(L) x 7.2"(W) x 7.4"(H) 930 CCA
Greg's 34 is 10.9" (L) X 6.8" (W) X 7.8" (H) 850 CCA

You don't necessarily need a height spacer for the 65.. It's about 1/2" to short for the stock tray set up, but you can get the clamp to tighten down snug without a spacer.

I'm picking mine up today, if there are any issues I'll let you know.

Yeah the Group 34 will need a shim of some sort underneath to shim it up high enough for the tie-downs to hold it securely... I happened to have a 3/4" piece of ply that I cut to fit the rough dimensions of the tray and put that in, that was the perfect size (drilled a bunch of holes in the bottom so there would be some airflow beneath).

Good idea on the holes for airflow/ventilation and drainage as well..
