Yea its really me, I have been on the down low for some time. Its to cold and wet to get my ass out and work on the trucks. Also been to over whelmed with how much I want to do.... so I went out and bought the wife a 80 series lol. Now I have even more projects.
Yah Mike finally sold his hz and just Payed TOR for a HD-T for his 80, I am jealous.

Ill get back to working here soon, I have been aching to get some stuff done! The wife is good, Pregnant again! hoping for a girl but we wont know for another month? Cash is doing great, having a kid is the best! even if it cuts into my build time haha.

Keep up the good work, and I will keep lurking quietly for a while.

Well stay warm and keep that little lady happy. Cash is a cool little dude. He'll be wrenching in no time.

Congrats on the little one on the way and the 80. :D

whats this twin stick business? what does it do?

Just gives me 2WD-4WD with one stick and LO-HI with the other. A more expensive way to do the 2 LO mod with a good positive shift. However, when I decide to get the H55F and Toybox later on it will be nice to have.

Hoping to do that upgrade one day along with the 4BT... It's overkill for now but WTH why not....;)

Any mod to keep me wrenching on Marley is a good thing IMO.

Got a few more goodies for Marley today for the dual battery set up.

Painless dual battery controller, military battery terminals, HD adhesive shrink tub, a 300, 250, and 100 amp breaker, terminal covers, battery cable/welding cable for auxiliary battery and crimp terminals.

I will be adding 2- Group 65 batteries. One will be a DieHard Platinum (I'm positive on this) and the auxiliary will be a DieHard Gold or Platinum... Haven't decided yet. BUT, probably a second Platinum.

Looks good dude! I got my group 34 DH Platinum and the 65 will definitely fit without a problem. These things are STOUT too. Loving mine so far and can't wait to get the upgraded battery cable kit from Fourrunner (but need to do my tune-up first, got to prioritize based on money availability).

G, why did you go with the 34 instead of 65? Any reason or ??

Just needed a battery and forgot to take measurements before we headed up to Reno so I wasnt sure that the 65 would fit and didn't feel like having to cart it all the way back up if it didn't. If I every do a dual battery mod I will get a 65 for the main and use the 34 for the back-up! :hmm:

I currently have a 27 in Marley.. It fits, but is shoe-horned in. I saw Johnny put a 65 in his and he had room to spare along with a much higher CCA as well.

I now just have to decide if i want 1 or 2 Platinums. Only $70.00 more from the DH Gold to Platinum. I think its worth it IMO

J

Definitely worth it as the Platinums are made by Ener-Sys and the regular DH and DH Gold are made by another company.

I did have to shoe horn my 34 in... needed a piece of 3/4" ply on the bottom to get it high enough that the brace would hold.

If you are interested the stock plate for the battery tray is 12.5"L by 7 3/8"D. If I remember correctly the Group 65 is 12"x7" so you will have enough room that way, only way I am not sure about is the height.

Thanks G, I plan on a possible mod of the stock battery tray and then I will build my auxiliary tray and relocate the overfill tank.. :grinpimp:

Well finally I have installed the inner window felts. Yes, Marley now has something chrome on her. After looking for a good way to strip and paint black.... I said WTH and installed them. Never found the inners that were plain black, chrome only.

Also, What a PITA these were to install. But, they are in and no more rattles...

I think that I will eventually give the fronts a try but when I do I am going to try and salvage that metal rounded pieces that goes over the edge at the top of the interior panel and mate it with the new panel.

I never tried it G, I wanted the painted metal showing. I would recommend getting the thinnest material you can find and try that first. The OEM is super thin and hence the typical crack out but you have to in order to get it tight around the metal and still get the felts attach properly. My OEM were glue only on the back side of the metal IIRC.

With a practice run or two I think it could be done. Have patience and maybe use A LOT of clamps to hold the material until it is fully cured/set.

8 MPG!!! 4bt!!! Lol. I'm getting somewhere over twenty. You could have one in by the end of March. Why waste money on a carb rebuild, you know you want a 4bt. You could make a mailbox stand out of that 2F.

YUUUUUP! We will see what rebuild does. However, I will probably stay with the 2F. If I do go diesel, it'll be Toyota.

I will play more with a PIG one day.

Dude have a 55 locally that is for sale and also have seen a 2H for sale on Cruiserparts.net (i believe) for about $2500?!

Well I splurged and decided to go with 2- Diehard Platinum batteries for the dual set up. 930 CCA group 65 should be plenty good.

One of the guys that works for me has a family member working at Sears.. SO, they helped me out and I got a good deal and then some.

316.74 out the door....
