Dash Cap looks amazing! Can't wait to do that! Did you end up using DBT or epoxy?

Trapper,

Went with the silicone adhesive that comes with the cap. Installed per the instructions. I have a feeling the reason why people say these crack out is because they put the adhesive EVERYWHERE!.

Instructions specifically say DO NOT apply adhesive in the center of the cap as it will not let the cap expand and contract in hot and cold climates. CAUSING IT TO CRACK!

So, I followed the instructions and I'll let you know how it turns out.

I'm very pleased with the product. Here's some pics.

Ran to the hardware store with my bride to get some cargo panel materials etc...

Got the panels cut and 10" woofers pre-fit. They fit perfect with some room to play with (depth, that is). So, here ya go guys.....:grinpimp:

Wife plans to start on the panel vinyl this week for the doors etc... It will be simple but, I'm just thrilled she wants to participate with Marley's build.

Wow, so awesome....that was my gameplan too, follow the directions. It really looks good, can't wait to get my hands on one.

Trapper, I really like the fit that this had. Honestly it dry fit almost perfect. Other than helping it a little in the radio and vent openings, it fit like a glove. I highly recommend this item.

I think the tan/brown will be a very close match as well.

Install took all of 10 minutes.... If there was a 100 and under thread.. This would be my post. Well 82.00 plus shipping.

J- i cant remember where exactly your posts about window felt are, so I'll just ask. Dis you replace the inside felt? Are you using the top portions of the door panels or leaving the painted metal exposed? If so, felt solution for that setup?
Thx!

Finny, post #287. I plan on leaving the paint exposed. The new inner felts are chrome so I will be working on those . They don't make a black inner go figure:crybaby:

Thank you!! (once again!! )

I need to replace my inner felts as well. My window tint has vertical stripes. Probably just need to pull that junk off really though.

Keep it up J

Ok don't think I am going to be the only one but I think we need some links to hi-res pictures of this thing! Damn you are doing an amazing job!!

Couple more questions:
1. How much FatMat did it take to do the entire floor pan like you did?
2. How long did it take you and was it difficult?

Seriously stellar job dude!

G,

1. I bought the 100 sq ft kit. The floor alone has about 60 +/- sq ft on it but, I added extra around trans hump and rear fender areas. I plan on adding inside door panels and quarter panels as well.
2. Not difficult at all. Well, for a big guy to roll around inside the rig and do it was .... a little tough. I should've grabbed one of the kids in the neighborhood to help me. It's like a big puzzle you are designing. FUN and tedious at the same time.

Very nice. As always.

What are you going to do with yourself when this done?

I-man.. I'll probably go for a drive and have a beer somewhere :D..... But, seriously... An off road trailer build for sure (already collecting parts) and hopefully a 55 makeover/ re-build and/or work on the wife's 80. Time will tell. Any of the above will be fine by me.

Looks sweet bro!!
And congrats on the plates!!!

Funny I actually just went to the dmv to get some restored plates, unfortunately I couldn't because the old plates I had said exempt on them, darn! lol so now I have to track down some more old plates with some decent numbers.
