Here we are torquing the head to factory specs and process
torque to 15 NM
35 NM
then 90m degrees
Wait 10 min
back to 90 degrees
Ya this a process you know how the german engineering is specific about there processes. This 3k cc engine is going to pop out about 350 hp and be reliable and push the ol 35 at a 20-25 mpg with diesel and i say that is ok for me

Here we go boys and girls engine is mostly put together and ready to install in the painted frame, a long time coming but excellence is required.

As you can see primer has been applied one more coat and block down and Ron is saying it is ready for color

After blocking it down one more time it was decided that more primer coat was needed to get it right so another coat was applied and that is what it took to make the body and parts perfect. After each coat it needs to cure and the weather has not been the warmest. now it is ready, hopping for warmer weather so it can be completed.

Made a bit more progress getting the last bits installed before the painted body. It has been a long time but worth the wait.

The day has come and finally the color and one cost of clear is on the tub. Ron will sand in between clear coats for the desired finish. The color is a 2018 tacoma desert sand color not sure of the official name

The bed liner color in the pic doesn’t show the true color but it looks good in person and gives it the protection I am looking for.

The tub is done, all the coatings including the underside and color sanded 1500, 2000,3000 and backed with cutter and polish ready to install on the cab monday.

Whitey I know it went out of control I guess i will be afraid to drive the dam thing but the 606 i am putting in it will be the best part it has air over water turbo air cooling. I am sure you will appreciate the install as you are very familiar with that engine
