"Museum Quality FJ40 Toyota Land Cruiser 4 Speed Disc Brakes PS 2F FJ 40"
"Absolutely beautiful top-notch restoration. I bought this truck 99% rust free."

ummm, Museum is all original.
Top Notch refurbishment ...

he is good at BS, i will give him that.

The white one in Bellingham is being sold by "Scott with long hair" (as he likes to tell people how to remember him). He's had many Toyotas that he fixes and sells.... he buys cheap and sells expensive.

My only dealing with him was when he was trying to buy the original steel wheels off of our parts 78. He outright lied to us about being able to drive down to Olympic Off Road and able to buy the wheels, with the trim rings, for $30 each and they have them in stock and as such offered us $100 for ours. I called Olympic to verify - they had one set, couldn't verify if they were original, no trim, and were $45 each. Needless to say he didn't buy ours.

The white FJ40 popped up for sale a few weeks later. It's still for sale as I see it every now and then when I drive by (he lives on a very busy street).

Either way, not the same guy.

Hmmm

"Museum Quality FJ40 Toyota Land Cruiser 4 Speed Disc Brakes PS 2F FJ 40"
"I took the best of the FJ40 parts years, threw in some personal likes and colors to make this one of the best Cruisers out there".

Wouldn't a "Museum Quality" restoration use ALL year correct parts?

museum quality would be a true restoration in my mind or a true all original survivor ...

next time someone see's his Cl add pop up where he is looking for Cruisers......let me know, I will have him come over and try to buy one of mine, I can play stupid.

local guy I know, bought a 76 from him, I did not even know he was looking for a 40, he ended up doing frame off, but it was not guite what he was told it was when he got it, he is a cop

WA is 25 years and older, no emission check, all state included. In some counties it will depending on where your at, take Pierce county, most of the county is 25 and older, but parts have no emission testing at all, Kitsap has NONE anyplace.

Washington too

Wrap it in plastic and it's just like Walmart!

He does have a few cool things on there. E.g. The NOS shackle hangers, Siamese I/E, Offenhauser dual single barrel intake (probably more trouble than it is worth but still 'cool' IMO).

You would think this so-called expert would take the time to put the correct years or at least year of manufacture associated with his carb listings.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying anyone should bid or buy stuff from that guy.

Edit: I'm beginning to think his biggest problem is that he is a total moron. Why even try to sell stuff that is so rare with an ebay rating of 1?

If the first auction was won by a real person, they will be saddened to receive a little baby 1967 Toyota Crown carb instead of a 1967 Cruiser carb

The second may be bummed to receive a 1977 carb, if they expected a late model 81-87 carb.

Wow, and he's got it as a no-reserve auction when the original asking was $58K .... That tells me something but I dunno what.

:crybaby:
