Good afternoon, this is my first post since joining this group. I purchased a 2019 Land Cruiser recently but need to install steps to help my elderly mother to get in and out of the vehicle.

Amp research does not produce a model for the Land Cruiser, however, there is a company (Westcott Designs)
that sells a bracket kit to make the amp research (P#75137-01A) steps designed for the tundra work.

My question is, has anyone done this before and if so, does anyone know what the colors of the wires I need to tap into on the driver side electrical box (left of steering column) and passenger kick area are)? There are 4 wires total, the “front driver”, “driver rear”, “passenger front” and “passenger rear.

The manual that comes with the amp research steps are for the Toyota tundra so I am not sure if the colors will be the same. I’ve attached photos below of what’s included in the manual. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The 2 color photos below are from a tundra forum but just to give you guys an idea

Have you already purchased these or are you thinking of purchasing them?

There was a post last year about lowering running boards a member purchased for his kids. He was happy with them. You may want to search for it.

I’ve already purchased these items and received them so looking elsewhere for other options is not an option. Obviously this can be done since I have the exact car and steps/ brackets as in the uploaded video above

I had these on my tundra crewmax. Install was a bit of a pain in the neck. Colors from the instructions don’t seem to correlate to your pictures of the connectors. Since westcott is selling adapter brackets, do they also have instructions? You’d think they’d offer as part of their kit…

I contacted Westcott design to see if their techs can give me an answer about the wiring harness colors to tap into. Here’s the email response below:

If this is correct, then it should make the job much easier now that I know which colors to look for and tap into. However, I will email him again because now I am confused by the instructions.
The center bracket will move to the front and the rear brackets stay where it is. The wires you will want to tap are in the door sill. You will tap into the violet wires for the front doors and he tan wires for the rear doors.

No instructions for the brackets. I am emailing them again

Might want to figure out what wires on the Tundra you are tapping into. I'm assuming they are the door open sensors. Shouldn't be too difficult to check the FSM for t-shooting those sensors to identify the plug and pin locations for the same sensors in the LC.
