Torque/power severly limited in reverse (5 Viewers)

Hi, question of the day, my 2010 doesn't ( never has had) have the balls to back my 5000# travel trailer up my semi kinda steep driveway with out using 4lo. Problem is that my actuator is EFFED up for a second time and I can't get it out of 4lo, which its in now, without serious mechanical manipulation. My 07 V8 4runner and my ex 08 3/4 ton BURB would but not this truck. It's not just with the trailer, absolutely NO grunt in reverse, just revs to about 1000rpm and the tongue convertor temp hit about 250+. Any idears?? Besides dropping the transfer case to replace the damn acuator . Thanks, Mitch

So is the engine revving but the transmission slipping? Or is it limiting torque/hp in reverse for some reason?

I assume no other issues with power delivery in forward gears?

When you say "never has had".. how many miles have you put on this vehicle?

It's limiting torque in reverse only. I've put over 100 thou on this one, been doing it ever since I got it. Today it pissed me off for the last time hence the question. When it's in 4lo, there is no issue, just a royal pain in the ass to get back into 4hi. Just need to know if this is a "design feature" of the LC200 or I got a computer issue.

It's probably a design feature where it limits torque output in reverse like you said.

IMO, the solution is to bite the bullet and fix the actuator.

I'm in 4LO anytime it comes to even basic flat maneuvering of my trailer in a parking lot. Because there is so much more fine control, while also avoiding riding the torque converter.

4LO is what makes a cruiser a cruiser and worth fixing

Probably on to something there. I plan on dropping the TC and install a NEW actuator instead of cleaning/regressing like I did last time. Plan on sealing the s*** out of the new one and rerunning a new vent line, hopefully I'll get more than a couple years out of it.
