This is the route I took. Stock one let me sit at around 290k(idk any alternator specific history before I owned it). I haven't take that spare off the shelf though. Every remanufacturer has a slightly different process, but OEM from Toyota is going to have the highest standards besides maybe getting a high performance company like Mechman to do it(if that is even an option).
It is literally the exact same alternator as buying directly from Denso for $50 cheaper. There are zero differences in standards between reman Denso and reman Toyota-Denso.

I believe you, you sound very certain, just curious where you come up with that kind of detailed info?

Generally speaking though the safe ASSumption is that OEM reman is your best bet.

From Toyota. From the stickers on the units. OEM Toyota Reman = Denso Reman, both Made in USA by Denso.

It doesn’t say “Remanufactured *By* Toyota”, it says “Remanufactured *For* Toyota” by Denso in the USA.

I'm a skeptic, but that's an interesting sticker. "Remanufactured for Toyota" is reassuring. I haven't seen that. Here's the sticker from the Denso reman alternator I put in an old Supra in about 2014.

Check out the DOA Denso starter for my 90 Supra that was obviously different than the presumed OEM one I removed. That dead on arrival starter cost me a solid day of labor between all the testing and part-swapping. My guess is that the solenoid in the reman was too weak and couldn't engage the teeth before spinning. Looked fine on the bench, but could not grab the flywheel when installed. In the case of this starter, the Denso reman unit was not the same as OEM, despite the OEM one being made by Denso. Maybe Rock Auto pulled a fast one or something and put a Denso sticker on a non-Denso part, but that experience sucked enough that I'd have a hard time buying reman Denso if OEM via Toyota/Lexus is an option. Icing on the cake was that Rock Auto refused a refund because I attempted install 32 days after purchase. 30 days was their cutoff and they did not care that it was a non-functioning part. Rock Auto - never again.
