I know that Rory at least owes you a beer for helping diagnose the electrical issue on his 80...

at the very least, a beer!
I would like to do a snow run, I have some sweet chains to try out :D

But if we are getting snow you guys won't see me...
unless you bring your snowboard (or skis)

I am free on Saturday, but not on Sunday. I would like to propose a snow wheeling trip on Saturday with Tom up to the Jemez - maybe up around Fenton Lake somewhere. We could keep it somewhat short, and then plan on getting back to Steve & Wendy's in time for the meeting.

The Saturday suggestion is just an idea - if Sunday's better for more people, then Sunday it is. But if we end up going on Saturday, I'd like some other trucks up there as well.

How about it - is anybody interested? If so, do you vote for Saturday or Sunday? We should show Tom some NM scenery and wheeling, and hopefully he can attend the meeting at Steve's regardless of which day we choose.

For a short trip I'm game for a Puerco Run or Cedro in the snow.

Just a few more ideas.

I'm free on either Saturday or Sunday, and either way would be interested in attending the meeting on Saturday night. I was not planning on renting a car though, so would need to bum a ride from someone to get to Steve and Wendy's. If we went wheeling on Saturday, then presumably we could just go to the meeting directly afterwards. Onur, I'm arriving Friday night a little after 9pm on US Air. How do I find you?

Not much snow in the Cedro area at the moment: who knows what this storm system will bring? I'll be working about 4 miles from the north side of Cedro: will try to remember to give you a snow report on Friday.

Hmm...9pm...I might be out of there by then.

You have PM.

We can meet up Friady night if you want and grab some food or a drink if you want after you get in and settled into your hotel room. Heck, if I'm around I can give you a ride to your hotel room.

Safe travels.

Graham - I assume you're talking about Saturday? Given that we've got the meeting at Steve's in the evening, a Puerco run or Cedro Peak run earlier in the day sounds good.

I just read the winter storm warning for the Sandia/Manzano mountains, and they are looking for 3 - 8 inches below 7,500 feet and 12 - 18 inches in the highest elevations. Cedro Peak would be the lower elevation, but there could still be some snow left over by next weekend, depending on how warm it will get this week.

Evan

Sounds like things are shaping up nicely. I've never wheeled in NM before, so I'm very much looking forward to this.

PM sent to Onur. Email sent to Rory.

Yeah, Saturday is best for me. I'm working on Sunday.

Maybe there's enough interest for a Saturday and a Sunday run, if Tom is up for that.

It's looking like we're leaning toward a Puerco run or Cedro Peak run on Saturday - any preferences? I think either one could be fun. We should have some snow to wheel on in the Manzanos, and the rain will likely keep the dust down in the Puerco.

Steve - can you join us on Saturday if we planned a short run earlier in the day? It could still give you time to prep for hosting the meeting. And if you and others want to still run on Sunday, that could be discussed at the meeting.

Snow report - our house is just below 7,000 feet. It didn't do much overnight, but it was snowing pretty good this morning and we had a couple of inches down. The winter storm warning has been extended until midnight tonight, so we could have a bit by the time this storm works through. But it was only about 32 degrees at the house. By the time I was halfway to town, it had turmed to rain and the roads were just wet. The snow level must be about 6,000 feet, but that may get higher as it warms up today - if it does.

Looking forward to the wheeling and the meeting...

I've been e-mailing with Tom directly, and after describing the Puerco and Cedro Peak, we're leaning towards a Puerco run on Saturday.

Who else would like to join us? We will likely plan to be out at the end of Southern about 9:00, but can adjust the time if later is preferable.

Evan

I'm in for the Puerco.

you guys might not see me!

I may stay local though, Sandia is a fun mountain when they get snow :D

I agree! I was going to take a a couple of kids to Sante Fe to teach them how to snowboard yesterday, but they got grounded and my other friends bailed so I went on a late call to the Puerco.

I could be up for the Puerco. Snowfall depends too, cause I need to get back on the mountain also.

Not sure if I can make it Saturday - depends on the honeydew list for the meeting, and how much I can get out of the way before then...

Steve - We'd love to see you out there if you've got time. We are planning on meeting at the end of Southern at 9:00 AM.

So far, we've got Graham in his LX, Rory and TrickyT (Tom from CA) in Rory's 80, me in my 80, and possibly Rudy in his 4Runner.

The more, the merrier! Mr. Maynard - haven't seen you on the trail in a while? :grinpimp:

The list of Cruiser, Tacoma, and DD projects is daunting. I don't think I will make it Saturday but I might catch a ride with someone.

I am planning to putting 4 new shocks on the DD this weekend. The Taco needs 02 sensors and front pads. The Cruiser needs a lot of mechanical love. Santa brought me a random orbital polisher to remove the scratches from years of abuse of all of my junk. The least that I could do is take it out of the box and pretend to use it so Santa doesn't get any more pi$$ed than she already is. :D

New shocks: 1.5 hours
Ox sensors and front pads: 2 hours (being generous)
Trying not to piss off Santa ... a life time :D
