Hello Everyone,

AirDownGearUp has been selling a storage, sleeper, and drawer system since 2017. We started with the 100 series Landcruiser, and have since expanded to the 200 and several 4runners as well. We are happy to announce we now have an offering for the 80 series Landcruiser!

As a brief overview of the SS1; it is a modular system that can be configured as a simple storage platform, storage+sleeper, or the full storage+sleeper+drawer system, with the ability to install drawers individually. The drawers are full-extension, ball-bearing, lock-in and lock-out. The drawers and sleeper can be purchased up front or added later and retrofitted. The system is comprised of CNC cut Baltic Birch, with recessed mounting hardware and fold-up wings to retain access to the side cubbies. Details can be found at Air Down Gear Up - https://www.airdowngearup.com/

We were able to get our hands on an 80 series to get a system installed, and we are really happy with the results. Here are a few pictures from the install. This application only called for one drawer and a half sleeper, but we are ready with a full sleeper and dual drawer offering as well. This is the same core system as the 100/200 with an 80 specific mounting solution and wings. We are releasing the 80 system with a new mounting solution that doesn't involve any turnbuckles. This has created an incredibly strong mount without the obstruction created by the turnbuckles, keeping the area under the wings completely open for storage.

Looks great! Any pricing yet?

Here's the updated pricing and options breakdown. Even with the improved solid aluminum anchor bars, we were able to keep pricing the same as the 200.

Does the basic Sleeper kit come with drawers? @suprarx7nut

No. The drawers can be added one by one (with or without the beauty panels) or you can save a bit by bundling it all together in the Premier Packages which include both drawers and beauty panels. If you want to build a package somewhere between the basic platform and the Premier Package let us know and we can work out a partial bundle.

We've tried to structure the lineup so that there's something for everyone. Simple platform with no sleeper up to full sleeper with dual drawers. Prices range from ~$650 up to ~$2k. The core of the system is the same so adding drawers at a later date is also an option if you want to start simple and add-on as you live through a few trips and learn what works best for your use.

Awesome info everyone! Thanks for the knowledge. With that in mind, perhaps we will have an LC and an LX specific passenger side wing. There would be a little extra gap for the LX guys it sounds.

Big news everyone, we now have an actual shop! We moved into this space last month and have been able to get everything set up and ready for action!

With the new shop, we are offering full installation services. Save yourself the time of building your own and come by the shop for an install. We have had the great fortune of working with a few customers on installs already. Installation service is about the same cost as shipping, so for a similar amount of money you save the time of assembly. With a system pre-built, we can have it installed quickly making it possible for the shop to become a jumping-off point for your next CO mountain adventure!

We are also going to be able to drastically reduce lead times with the extra inventory storage. the goal for 2021 is to get systems stocked so we can ship/install same day. It's a lofty goal for sure but that's the target.

We'd love to get a system installed for you, come check us out! We are located about 20 mins East of Boulder Colorado, 20 mins North of Denver:

3540 Hwy 52 Suite H8
Frederick CO 80516

So just so I understand correctly, the "sleeper" part is the panel sitting above the drawer platform, which is then installed above a folded seat when putting it into "sleep" configuration?

Any photos from the rear seat area vantage point of how this mounts up and how tall the platform is?

I'm also kinda hoping for a "half drawer/platform" system that only occupies the passenger side. Does your system accommodate that configuration?

Please and thank you!

Correct on the sleeper. That is attached via a hinge to the platform, and flips forward to lay on the folded seats when deployed.

We don't have a photo from the 2nd row seats vantage, but I attached a picture below showing how this is mounted. We utilize an 'anchor bar' mounted into the 3rd row seat brackets and the cargo d-ring mounting points.

Half systems are certainly available! I have attached a picture of a recent 100series we did a half system on. It would be the same for an 80. This particular customer wanted to run the full-width anchor bars to accommodate a full system in the future, but we can also offer this with the half-width anchors, so the side without the system will be completely open.
