2014 LC, 132K miles. My front AC says it’s on with fan blowing full power, but no air coming out of the vents (dash, feet or windshield). Cold box blows cold. No idiot lights on dash. Was not experiencing any issues with it blowing warm(er) when it was supposed to be cold. Just stopped blowing. Rear AC works per usual.

Scan Gauge shows no codes being thrown.

The magical Toyota HVAC scan (holding down the Auto and Recirc buttons at start up) shows no codes.

I spent an $135 on the last relay at the stealership (P/N 90987-02028) on the Hail Mary. The Hail Mary failed me. Parts guys had no further suggestions other than to say the HVAC has a “limp mode” just like the transmission and have service diagnose the problem.

Before I suck it up and schedule an appointment I’d like to see if I can rectify the problem myself. I’d appreciate any thoughts from those who know about these things.

It's top of mind for me right now, my blower fan is making a ton of noise intermittently. I'm not seeing that they just randomly completely die though.

I just ordered a new one, agree it seems like an easy replacement. If you want my old one to test let me know, but they're pretty cheap. You could also test the connector for power. Yours may be a different part though...

My ‘07 4Runner blower has been making sounds for a long time but still puts out air fine. It’s not a daily so I don’t really worry. The LC is my daily and wasn’t making any untoward noises before it stopped. I’ll probably just order one up and have it at the ready when I test the connector.

I recall my 05 4R made noise briefly and then magically stopped?

The LX is too quiet to deal with the screeching… plus the wife will kill me.

Keep us posted if your fan is indeed dead.

If it’s a brush issue it may not make noise before it goes out.

Should be really easy to verify you’re getting power to the motor itself with a voltmeter. Just remove the passenger footwell vanity panel and find the connector for the fan, check for power on those wires.

If it tests good, motor is done.
