As soon as the dealer sends some over. The ones on the website weren't that great, Apologies in advance; I should have halted the sale until he sent those over

Finally got the dealer to send a couple of pics... should have downloaded the ones when it was listed on sale... In the meantime, waiting for the check to clear and then have them send it on it's 3,000 mile journey up here.

Thank you! I guess the color choices were copied from the Ford Model A, you can have it in black or... black depending in the day of the week. Was hoping for an Imperial Green akin to British Racing Green but silver is OK with black interior.

Silver does a great job at hiding scratches! I won't do black again lol

Not trying to rain on parade but did dealer mention any body work being done?

Zoom in, front bumper color is different than rest of truck 🤔

CarFax didn't show any collision or body damage. Could just be lighting?

Possible, but I doubt it…. I’m guessing at least front bumper cover has been repainted, maybe others can chime in??

I take carfax with a grain of salt. Mine showed zero collisions or accidents. It’s 100% obvious on mine there was an accident of some level on the right front passenger side and the fender and headlight were replaced at some point.

I personally, don’t care, at all. But carfax was clean. So yeah…

I’m thinking it’s just the paint on plastic vs metal. Similar issue on the driver side mud guard where it transitions from metal to plastic in the same picture. My stock 80 series in metallic beige does the same thing in the light at just the right angle. Plastic fender flares look to be slightly off compared to the painted metal panels.

Sounds reasonable (says buyer now praying this is the correct answer...).

bumpers probably been resprayed at some point but who cares, impossible to match silver, at least they didn't blend into the fenders! You'd be surprised how many new vehicles have paintwork before they're even sold as new...I learned this recently... Good news is you bought the best color available in 2016+ LC and it looks great to me

What are thoughts on Imperial Green? Doesn't seem very common...

Rear bumper has the same appearance as the front. Would be unusual that both were resprayed. Green of any kind was not offered from years 2016-2021at least in the Land Cruiser variant. Not sure about Lexus.

A picture of a 2018 silver one. Same appearance as yours.

Thanks. Just out of interest, does Toyota do the same Paint to Sample (PTS) option as Porsche. Meaning for ~$12K you can have your car done in any color you want (note: 6 month delay in delivery and only offered twice a year).

No. Toyota does a lot of things well but customizing a vehicle to your exact specifications is not one of them. My 200 is also silver and I find that it looks off at certain angles and in certain lighting. Did confirm however that mine has had a front bumper respray at the very least.

Well it will be covered with snow part of the year so that should be a consolation (were it to be an eyesore...:bang:)

There’s also a variant of the Tundra, TSS model I believe that has a color match option for the front hood price that mates to the grill.

Brand new, off the lot, from the factory, the color was never right and it was obvious to the naked eye.

Random fact of the day

Here’s a random pic off the web and you can see the grill to the rest of the truck color difference. Friend and I noticed this at the dealer on brand new trucks and they were all the same:

Just took a delivery of a 21 in silver and there is no discrepancy in color on the front bumper or the rear...and the rear has been resprayed, so I guess it varies.
