Missed out, the bastard seller on Amazon never sent the rims, I filed for a refund but Amazon wanted more info and says I have to wait a week for them to decide whether to issue a reimbursement. In the meantime, alas @cruiserjunktion had another person who wanted them and it went to him. Just couldn't spend another 2 grand not knowing when Amazon would reimburse me. First time this has happened to me that someone defaulted on Amazon.

So as soon as they pay me I'll begin looking for some black 18 HR rims; again

When the Universe aligns, then it's perfect. I got my refund from Amazon, and since @cruisejunktion's customer found other rims I was able to buy them off him. Now we just need to ship them up here.

LC200 scheduled next Monday to fix the frosted window issue and the hatch window should arrive by then as well. I might actually get to drive it sometime soon...

The rims are with UPS, hopefully they will ship tomorrow. Well that was exciting...:bang:

Crazy to hear about the wheel ordeal. I was able to order 9 BBS wheels from Toyota, with little wait and they arrived within a week or so.
 
Several issues arose:

* Some sellers didn't want to ship to AK - I keep writing my Senators to get them to embargo oil, salmon, gold etc. to these folks who live in those questionable States.

* When I ordered from a Toyota site they said they were back ordered with no delivery date

* Then we have the scam on Amazon where the guy took the money, took out a PO label but never shipped them (yet that person despite now several folks coming to say they were scammed is still allowed to sell on the site). As to the disclaimer it's totally bogus on Amazon's part, but grateful that they refunded me.

* I contacted the seller on this forum, and told him I had to wait until Amazon reimbursed me. In the meantime he said someone else was interested, since I couldn't afford to pay for 8 rims (not knowing what Amazon's decision wold be) I told him to sell it to the other person but if it fell through to let me know.

* Well Amazon reimbursed me, the other deal fell through and I was able to conclude the transaction telling him to just drop it off to a UPS Store to have them pack and ship. It arrived too late for them to do that today, so hopefully they will call me tomorrow so I can pay for the shipping and get them up here.
