Got rear ended but luckily only destroyed my bumper and my backrest of the drivers seat bent backwards. Am honestly surprised how flimsy the metal is. Anybody install any aftermarket seats ye would recommend? Thanks in advance!

I've been down this road recently. Basically no other Toyota Landcruiser seat will bolt up due to the narrow 70 series slider stance. I have tried Honda seats and adapted them easily but the seats from a 1990+ Hilux are actually really close and only need some quick brackets to adapt to the width. The grey vinyl was even the exact same as my 75 series interior. Recaro are great, Scheel-Mann if you want to spend some $ for extra comfort. I've read that Pajero seats have nearly the same rail width. Good luck!

i dont mind another 70 series seats, the bench is a pain :) i might have to go by @joekatana s place, he boasted about seats galore, im sure some are in decent condition

Yes some are in really good condition but not for sale since I keep these for the Cruisers I import.

A while ago I bought some new take out 76 seats and hope to be able to get some more in the future.

Just a teaser pic of about half the 7x seats I am hoarding ;-)

The brown one on the right is a Scheelman seat and if someone wants it they can have it for free as long as you come and pick it up at the shop !

At least your seats are on a shelf being used. From time to time I see nice new OEM seats in the dumpster and it makes me cry.

Need to build a bigger shop or become a better salesman.....

perhaps both .?

Lucky me I don't have space for the 1st one and I already give up on the 2nd one ..

you wanna come here and help build that shop

sure, but to be honest I would not be that much help .. :grinpimp:

View attachment 1544700 View attachment 1544711 I have Scheel-Mann seats in my hzj73 and hdj79,,one of the best upgrades to my land cruisers,,

By the way Toby ,,the Scheel-Mann distributor for North America is a great guy to deal with,

Met Toby today at overland east. I sat in the scheel-Mann seat and fell in love with them. It was in a 70 series UTE.

I guess it is a personal preference over looks of the seat but those scheel-mann seats don't really grab my interest. Perhaps seeing them up close and sitting in one would change my mind.

They maybe clash a little but I don't mind it. Seats often don't match especially in serious off road and racing rigs so it's not something that bugs me personally.

The seats in my 70 are fine for a 3 - 4 hours but after a while I really need to take a break. Then another break. The seats in my 03 Tacoma are fantasically comfortable even after 10 hours behind the wheel, and I'm thinking of trying to swithch them out - wondering how much would be involved with that.

I've been thinking the same thing, I've got a set of 1st gen Taco seats I think I might try to make work in my HZJ73.

A) I don't know if they are readily available.
B) I don't know if they will work in any other 70 Series.
.... but the seats in my 77 Series are a VAST IMPROVEMENT over any other 70 Series seat that I have owned. They are ever bit as comfortable as the seats in my late model Tacoma and 8-10 hour drives are not an issue.
