Wasn't the mustard truck for sale for $8K at one time? I think I'd go with a non/little rusted truck unless you have the tools and skills to tackle cutting and replacing sheet metal. I'd go over the truck with a keen eye if there's rusted through spots. There are probably thin spots elsewhere too. You also have to remember that unless you live in the west or garage it, it's going to keep on rusting till you can get to patching/ replacing and painting parts. Although the one I got has it share of problems, I'm pretty sure I can tarp it if needed and get back to it w/o too much worry of major rust creeping in. I may be wrong though... ;)

It also seems to go that as soon as you buy one, a nicer one pops out that you missed. Must be fate...

I have the knowlege and tools, but I also dont mind waiting for a better one. My thoughts were that for around 5K you cant find one that doesnt need quarters as well as some other work. The last restoration I did while I was in Hawaii (military) and paid 3K for a rusted 1973 bronco that litterally needed everything but the firewall and core support replaced. Around 15K+ later its done but I learned to start with something decent. I havent decided on the 82 for sure, might wait for a better body. Texx, have you gone and looked at this truck? Here is a picture of the Bronco on its first drive. It was a frame off, had to replace both quarters, rockers, inner wheel houses, floors, fenders, grille, front aprons, ect. Came out good, I was offered 17K for it a couple weeks ago but didnt sell. Probiby should have. Belongs to the Xwife now.
