Hey, I just PM'd you !!

Can't wait to tear into it BTW.... After I get some more Toyota Factory silicon, that is...(red or black:idea: That is the question.....)Stuff is awesome!

Got mine on Thursday, looks nice. Now I need to get the machined birfields and I'll be ready for the install.

Thought I would posts some pics of the spool.

Looks pretty:grinpimp:

It would have been nice to get in on this buy but it was too rich for my blood. I'll just keep removing my front driveline and locking the CDL for now and I'll install some aisin SFA mini truck hubs soon to stop the gears etc from spinning.

I look forward to seeing how everyone likes their part time rigs. I've been psuedo part timing for a while and I like the way it feels. Should feel even better once the Aisins arrive.

I'd like to get the spool or maybe do what Beno's doing in the future.

Because in full time mode, you had power being transmitted through both front and rear driveshafts making power distribution a bit more even keeled.

In part time, you have power going to the rear driveshaft exclusively thus making the shift of power through the tranny/xfer case transmit differently through the frame/motor/xfer case mounts.

I think that is what Alia was alluding to....all part time trucks that I've ridden or driven in have this feeling.

I've noticed this too with the DL removed and CDL locked. The T-case definitely feels like it has a lot more play especially upon loading and unloading force through the powertrain.

I wonder if the NA models that have been converted to part time need a custom t-case support modification. Or perhaps the extra play isn't enough to damage anything or break a mount??

It helps to have a set of shocks with a super tight rebound characteristic - shocks extending slowly. This helps with the front end lifting (starting from stop) issue while in part time mode.

Do you know of any brands offhand? I'm just running the OME's that come with the medium kit, and I don't think they have tight rebound because my front end definitely lifts upon acceleration, especially if I'm heavy the pedal.

The FOR lift seems to be pretty amazing from what I have heard, so it will probably be my next spring/shock combo if I replace the OME's in a few years. I'm not sure if his shocks have tight rebound or not.

The t-case movement doesn't bother me other than wondering if the shift in forces is going to cause a mount to break or perhaps something more serious.

I have the Bilstein 7100s but I bet other shocks that are re-valveable can be ordered with this characteristic in mind. Maybe the new Sport OME shocks have a tighter rebound than the previous gen? I don't know...

alright, so a bunch of you guys bought through the group buy.... anyone install theirs yet, or are the spools being used for interior decorating? Write-ups / pics?

paperweight so far. Mines a daily driver so I'm looking for a few days off to install the spool, do my axle service, and install hubs all at the same time.

Go for it! PM me and I'll give you our contact at AA's info.

Finally got mine installed last week. Put about 600 miles on so far. It does seem to handle nicer and steer easier. Only thing I don't like is I now have a bit of a whine from about 45-60 mph mainly when letting off the accelerator. I'm not sure if its the rear diff or transfer case with something wore out.

 Yep, Mine is still in the box. If I every get the motor rebuild finished up the spool is next...

I had my part time conversion done by ACC in Atlanta. They replace the center diff with a hand welded piece, same principle as the AA kit. I love everything about it, but I too have a whine when letting off the accelerator around 50 mph. I was worried about it at first, but it hasn't seemed to have gotten any worse. Sounds like gear whine to me.
