The hood on the wife's 100 is raised on the pass side toward front of the truck, drivers side sits flush. I can push the pass side down to sit flush and am wondering if there's a way to lower the hood latch or something else? It's not the rubber adjusters getting in the way either, in fact the pass side adjuster is screwed almost all of the way out and still doesn't touch the metal when the hood is closed.

Any recommendations is appreciated.

Look for black plastic adjustor near front of hood, on each side. They screws in and out by hand.

@2001LC thanks but it's not those, see OP, I played with those things for a while last night.

This truck was involved in a collision with a deer 10+ years ago before I owned it. May have something to do with that, not the best repair job I've seen(was done at the dealers body shop) but everything seems to line up except for this side of the hood.

Not positive if its just the reflection of the flash in the bottom picture or real but it looks like you have a wave in the hood along that line, could be the hood is somewhat warped? You could loosen the bolts to the hinges and see if you can adjust any

Awesome thanks everyone. Meant to remove those bolts last night and just try it but it was getting late, figured I'd ask before messing with it today.

@Traut100 thats very possible man, don't think it's the flash, I think it's slightly warped.

I have noticed a slight hood buffering at speed.. this will totally fix that issue! Thanks Julian!!!

It definitely will. Recently adjusted mine and an annoying hood shake disappeared.
So maybe I'm mentally deficient but, the bolt holes are not slotted. I have loosened the bolts and tried to adjust the latch a hundred different ways to no avail. Is there something I'm missing or is this thread like the "9th green at 9" trick? My hood sits pretty flush but has the highway wobble and I hate it. I could probably adjust the rubber stops to get rid of it but the hood would then sit at least 3/8 of an inch above the fender. Please help my feeble mind understand exactly how you adjusted yours. Thanks!!

I have the EXACT. SAME. PROBLEM. After adjusting the rubber stops to solve the highway hood wobble, it now sits noticeably above the fenders on both sides (about 1/4"). I took a close look at the hood latch but could see no adjustment to "lower" it. Not sure what I'm missing...?

The hood latch sit in the upper radiator support. The hood latch support travels down to the lower radiator support. There may be a little slack that can be taken up by moving latch and or hood latch support down, I've not tired. What I have seen is minor front end impact will bend the hood latch support. This will push up the latch. Sometime bending the upper and or lower radiator support. Bending or replacing the bend parts my help get your hood lined up.

Thanks for the reply. Nothing is bent or out of place on mine. The hood sits where it is supposed to but wobbles at speed on the freeway because of slack in the latch mechanism. The latch itself is attached with 3 bolts. Two on the cross member and one on the t support. All 3 of these have no movement or adjustments available. I would totally start bending stuff if mine was bent in the first place but since it's not, that;s not an option for me. See the photos below.

As you can see with these the hood sits almost perfectly.

Front end impact can be as small as a kiss in the parking lot. These will usually leave a tell, like a smudge on the bumper paint. Sometimes it won't leave any mark.

It hard to see your hood corners except in one picture, where it does looks too far forward. Check all four corners for alignment.

Last thing is the latch itself, a cheap part to replace.

The position of the hood is not the issue and the latch is working properly. I would gladly replace the latch. I would gladly go to a frame shop/ body shop but that is not the issue. Does anyone know if the latch is actually adjustable in some way that eludes me??????

Here are the four corners.

Maybe a stupid question, but have you tried "unscrewing" the rubber/plastic bumper pads at the front corners of the underside of the hood, to take up the slack in the hood (as suggested in post #2 of this thread)?

I was able to fix the "hood flutter", at freeway speeds, on my son's 2000 LC using this method.

Hard to tell do to different angles of pictures. But your hood looks like wider gap on DS rear and narrower on PS front.
