Exactly, for sake of test you proposed! Turning adjustors all they way in, which will take pressure off the hood/latch. This will drop the hood's level below the fenders. The hood will now have up and down play, while latched closed. Which normally, we do not want any play while driving. As it damages the hood latch, by repeatedly moving up and down beating on latch & hook, wearing them out. So after testing latch's release, with a loose (lowered) hood. Turn the adjustors back out to putting back upward pressure.Will do. You sure you want me to turn them all the way in?? That would seem like less pressure on the hood. Out (CCW) would increase pressure.
