I believe that even if your cooling system is performing exactly as designed after 30 plus years on the road an auxiliary fan can’t hurt. Don’t use a thermostat just hook up a switch when you’re putting extra strain on your motor. You just may save it from overheating. Especially in this summer heat.

This one worked for me:

No issue with cooling-just an extra piece of mind when roaming out in the middle of no where.

I have a fan on my truck. It was used when wheeling because the old girls would get warm sometimes as would the tranny. Not hot but warm. THEN, the tcase recieved low range gears. I dont need it anymore.

I went all electric, I can confirm it is more than adequate for the diesel but I have yet to test it in a petrol or gasoline version. It is way more efficient than the OE offering and dismisses 40+ degrees C here in Spain with ease, in fact it has never actually switched to full speed although it is set to spin at 50% of it's maximum speed when the AC is on but switched by the trinary switch as per the ABC of cooling thread, again an improvement of AC will be noticed. Contrary to popular belief, if the full electric fan mod is carried out correctly it is a well worth the time and effort.

All details are in my long running build thread, link in signature.

Regards

Dave

Do you also have an override switch inside or just on the pressure switch?
I do have an override switch inside.
