I'm sure there is a wing in the Betty Ford Clinic for Cruiser addicts.
Much like an AA meeting you start off by announcing your name and declaring you have a problem.

I do not bleed money. I flush it.....:rimshot:

According to my sources I believe it's an exotic Asian bacterial infection... "discovered in 1951, Lancrooza fickserupis is a bacteria known to attack the backuttpocket of only the coolest of people, who are inadvertently infected by consuming sushimi from Japanese waters off the Aichi prefecture, or through the over-consumption of white, brown or beige rice grown from the delta that drains the Chúbu region: the first subspecies to appear out of its natural habitat (1961), Lancrooza fickserupis australiae, didn't report any deaths due to the abundance of treatment centers with affordable medication that permits the victim a reasonably normal life, while a more lifestyle threatening strain Lancrooza fickserupis importii evolved some time after 1984 in other more impoverished continents, where relieving medication is scarce." (unreliable source, 2009)

We are waiting for your 79 series pick up thread soon =)

Yes, bots is a rhd country.

All that trouble to legalize it in the states (by someone else) to then take it to a country where you could buy a brand new HZJ76! I think you can get a V8 VDJ76 if you buy in SA. Personally I would leave it stateside.

You may not be familiar with the market there. This part of Africa is not easy to source good vehicles with bulletproof maintenance and record keeping. Africa can be hard on vehicles also.

1st. I don't want a 76 and am in canada. Legalizing is easy peasy and takes a phone call to your insurance company , a few forms for customs, add a relay for daytime running lights, and simply register and safety it like a normal car.
2nd. New is close to 70k and usually imported from South Africa. I don't think I would find this trim there either. 200 and 100's are popular.
3rd. Used quality is poor and good mechanics are rare that do quality work
4th. I don't trust they will have my best interests on mind.
5th. Import to canada and export to South Africa/bots easy.
6. I am shipping a container anyways, so I might as well full it with a cruiser
7. Aftermarket in North America has way more support.
I personally have not seen a 77 on Botswana. This is the model I want and have a newer 79 already there.

So for a few extra grand I get piece of mind and a perfect fit for my wants

Fair enough, I was only talking about a new vehicle from SA where the V8's are now available, but I'm guilty of not reading your post properly as I didn’t know you have a new 79 when your there. I was thinking you were going for work, as when I've accepted foreign posts in the past a new vehicle of my choice was always part of the deal.

Denso or Denco turbo Kit?

Great looking truck, seen it in the shop for the last couple years....

I did a Denco turbo kit and water to air many moons ago, thing pulled well and EGTs were nice and low...

Thanks very much Rob. I didn' know you were one of the founding members of Radd Cruisers! It is Denco, damn auto correction. I am trying to get all this done before packing it in the container for shipment. I am going to leave the exhaust as stock except for the pinch point which I will at least cutoff and replace with an unrestricted piece. I will take more pics so as I progress through the build.

Sounds like a great adventure.... 30 years ago I lived in Toronto for a few years, from North Bay. originally for 20 years...

John and I were speaking about the 1hz with turbo, the auto is a very nice touch, seems to work well and not feel like you loose to much energy..

Not to down play the BJ74, but the interior changes and materials they used make it feel much more modern.. Good luck with the build..

Added a couple more pieces as the build continues. Master cut off switch for transport and security. 40 inch LED light bar, twin led back up cubes for reverse lights, awning led's, dry fitted isspro gauges, wired four switches, built awning mounting brackets and extended front and rear diff breathers to engine bay.

Congratulations, that is a very nice rig.

We are all just jealous......

You sir are a lucky man. Very nice.

Perhaps Wayne wanted me to buy the 77 because he found joy in the amount of money I had to spend to bring 100 series parts across the border to canada and was quite entertained to see me continue to bleed money. Not like he doesn't have the same disease. Or any of you for that matter. :) Denial isn't all that bad.

Jordan345 - Wayne is a wise man and so are you to follow his guidance. I can only ditto the comments above regarding envy, etc. - and only visit this thread on alternate Saturdays - too much of a good thing makes me forget how lucky I am. Your 77 is awesome. Best wishes to you and your family in Botswana. May I ask what kind of business you bought?

Rob - Don't rub it in. Some of your cousins south of the border chafe at the 25 year shackles we suffer.

Case in point via Yahoo Japan auction - represented as 35,000k, 2000 model 1HZ/auto - current bid US$25,000

Canadians rock....

Ooooooh thats o sexxxxy, after wheeling with a seven series four door this summer, I like the overall size of the vehicle. Although our fellow 7 series owner lack a certain amount of experience and could not bring himself to dropping tire pressure below 18PSI....it still performed extremely well..

Nice kit on the green one, amazing how the 70 series continued to evolve.

Another 11 years until legal USA import. Since I can't negotiate with the Feds, maybe I should emigrate.

Cruiser freedom is only 50 air miles away...automotive asylum, perhaps?
