Being a member of the "He-Man Woman Haters Club", emphasis on the He-Man part, I don't run my AC very often.

I have recently noticed that when I do start it for the first time it makes some sort of noise, like it is catching or belt slipping. Starting it at higher RPM's seems to aggravate the noise.

Other than trying to listen for failing bearings in the compressor and idler arm (which is a couple of years old), what else should I look at or consider?

hhmm tighten the belt, maybe :confused:

Have you consider continuing your He-Man approach and not use your AC and the noise will never bother you.

:lol::lol:

That is how I do it now. I am just not sure I want to hear the complaints when I am loaded with all four :princess:'s.

Howdy! Just explain that it is a great environmental benefit. You get better gas mileage, and who wants that yucky old freon around here anyway. It's bad for the Ozone. John

Well, I think I got it solved. I think it is one of those "If a tree falls down in the forest, does it make any noise if nobody is around?"

I can't ever get it to make the noise if there is anyone else around. So it is either in my head or not a problem when I use the AC with others in the truck.

:grinpimp:

While you are at it, crank the stereo so you can't hear it.:p
