Hola from the WestSide!!

I was a member of the local TLCA Chapter in Dallas a few years back but relocated to Houston and now I'm here in Abq.

My past loves were a 86 FJ60, 78 FJ40, 2 96 80's and currently a 07 FJ Cruiser lifted with blacked out wheels and trim.

Hopefully I can meet up with some of you and share some ideas and tips, especially on 55's.

My latest project is a 78 FJ55 and she's in wonderful shape and almost ready for the road.

Here she is...

Wow! that thing is sweet! is it really as rust free as it looks? did you have to cover any rust in the fenders? it's hard to find 55's that don't have the fender areas rusted out.

glad to see you made it here to our corner of mud. you emailed me a while back about joining. hope to see you at a meeting or event soon.

I just sent my dues to Jon....the truck has new Toyo fenders, the last one's in the US I was told...the inner fender well was rusted through below the battery box so I used POR15 and their power mesh to make the repair...I have also installed a new Weber 32/36 and should be back on the road soon.

well, good work. Jon messaged me that you had paid, so you are set. what about that FJC? we have several of those in the club too.

Welcome. Now that you have some 55 experience behind you there is another 55 needing some help. It has been sitting in an open field south of I-40 near the Edgewood exit for at least four years. It is orange (maybe faded red) and white.

Welcome. I know there is another FJ55 owner in town who is restoring a pig. I don't think he has gone to any of the meetings. Can't wait to see your pig.

The FJC is MrsABQIRONPIG's, she won't let me near it...I installed an OME and some BFG KO's, blacked out the trip....I want to do bumpers and lights, but she's saying no....I'll wait until she's outta town!:)

Here's the FJC

I think the meeting is tonight up in MOAB! HDC will have the next monthly meeting in early November. Time and location to be determined; unless you are offering to host?

I think that would be a good idea if only to get "fresh" recounts from Moab. We could call it a "gathering" instead of a meeting.
