A440F Question

Two years ago I successfully rebuilt my A440F. The transmission was fully rebuilt and the Torque Converted (TC) was sent out and rebuilt.

Now, I am getting a strange vibration above 50 mph. I suspect this might be the TC internal locking mechanism. Once I slow below 50 mph the vibration goes away.

Any thoughts or recommendations would be much appreciated.

Check your U-Joints. I had the same problem, but above 55mph. You can verify by pulling the rear DS and running in 4WD to see if the vibration goes away, or changes significantly. I took a 150 mile trip running this way and had no problem. New U-joints in the rear shaft and all is good.
