I was talking with @pardion last night. I had a small pile of OE acorn caps in front of me that I pulled off the wall for the remodel. I noticed this one cap was beveled differently from all the others. Beveled like the newer caps. Huh?

Maybe that explains this. I was comparing OE hub caps with the last two rounds of reproduction hub caps. Both repos were copies of originals, but i noticed one of the repos was shorter than the others. Maybe the shorter one was copied from a shorter OE cap??

I know at least some of mine were reconditioned from Frenchy's Toyopet sedan. I never confirmed to be the same part number, assumed they were the same . I think that I passed them on to someone here.

I got a set from you. A (not perfect) rechromed set. Is that it? I'll check the profile, IIRC those are profiled like the right side cap from Mark.

That would be them, he wasn't satisfied with the rechrome.

I wonder if the profile difference was intentional or production variance?

the "flared" style would make sense being earlier, maybe E-'60 when the rims would have been 16". The "flared" one looks to be wider?
