Bump

Same question as OhmStyles - were those pillar pods ever made for LHD? Is Adrian still around?? If so, he has at least one more customer for sure! Can't find anything else anywhere that can hold 3 gauges for an 80 on the pillar...

Hey guys -

So it's been roughly 5 yrs from when Adrian sent me a pair of these, I shaped both a little (decent fit as was really) - then as per what he & I talked, I sent him back one & that was literally the last I heard from him.

I shot a few emails, one to confirm he got it back & one to see if there was progress ( the one I have is really thin ABS - not quite what you would pay ~$40-50 for, truely prototype thickness).

But no replies from him. Zip. Zero.

He sent me the same email that he posted, and it would be great to get contact back with him - either I fell into a spam filter or he changed priorities - I don't know.

Adrian - if you see this I still have the 2nd one in case DHL (are they even still around?) -killed the 1st one in shipping.

I'll email him again at the one listed, see if anything better happens :meh:

For those who are interested, I'll post a pic if I can make Photobucket work (tried in a diff thread yest, couldn't get a pic to load then).

3 gauges, retails the A pillar grab handle.

You all now know everything I knew - I'll post if I hear back, anybody who gets a reply would be nice to hear of.

If someone is willing to make the SolidWorks file for it, and/or make a negative out of wood or aluminum, then I can have it vacuformed in whatever thickness ABS. I could do it all but it would seriously be dead last in my priority list which means nothing for at least a year.

@NLXTACY / Joey -

I never did install the one I have yet as it was a "contingency of shipping damage" - at least to me.

I'm sending Adrian another email, but I don't mind if sacrificing for the cause helps if he doesn't send a reply. If that is of any help.

I also get it about doing it dead last - you have 2 things running I'm stashing cash for (battery switch & panel, and the other) - but if Adrian doesn't claim it I'm fine with it.
I spend my $$$ & time working the boat right now anyhow.

I just now tried to re-email Adrian since it was his initially - so my email was short but gave my name & our site in case he's still around but doing more of other marque vehicles (a guess).

Give him ~week to get with us, then my conscience is clear giving it up to get further along on it. Was his to start, so seems fair by me.

--Sidenote--

Is anyone else with a Apple product (pad, phone) - having a craptastic time getting
image links to work from sites like Photobucket?
@chapel gate mentioned it to me a few days ago, anyone else hitting this as well?

I never use any of those sites. I always upload from my own phone. Links change. Sites change. Sites shut down. F that.

4x4 concepts is a joke. I had to file a PayPal claim to get my money back. Adrian sent me a bogus tracking number and ignored my e-mails for 6-weeks.

Seems real hit-n-miss there - back in the day he was great about taking care of business, but the recent emails have all gone unresponded to, so I'm going to take that as defacto permission since I tried multiple times to recontact him.

Adrian - when or if you read this, you got multiple emails from me & I'm moving forward. Sorry dude, I made the effort & my conscience is clean.

I'll move this along then & report back - open invitation to PM me & put the cattleprod to me, I tend to have alot of pokers in the fire & flat forget some stuff along the way.

They are listed on ebay, but be warned, ive been on ebay for 12 years and it was without doubt the worst ebay experience i have had...

OK, guys - I’m going to talk with Joey & Ryan ( @NLXTACY , @scottryana ) - esp now with the turbo kit fleshing out & a hard reality, alot of guys are going to want to add some additional guages.

IDK if people want to use the standard 2 1/16” guages & run a pillar pod, or integrate into some other manner. That’ll be what is worth kicking around.

I will say mine holds 3) 2 1/16” guages & still retains the factory A-pillar grab handle.

We’ll take it from there, I admit I been far more busy with the Tundra / boat / setting it up for towing, so my 80 has been “yard art” for awhile.

Send me what you have. I’ll have it scanned and figure out production for it. I don’t have the time to start it from scratch.

I already have the standard 2 1/16” guages for EGT and Trans temp and want to run a pillar pod for two guages.
So if you guys make one I'm in!

With my likelihood of buying a turbo kit i'd love a gauge pod. I want to run boost/afr/oil pressure like you should on ANY turbo car (that isn't completely stock).
It would be cool if it was designed in a way that it wouldn't be hard to cut one gauge mount off for those that only want 2 gauges. But i think 3 is the right number, especially if it keeps the handle!

Dual Gauge Pod - Install

There is this, but cant find that part number yet. Ill look tonight when im not working.

Not sure what brand mine are, but I like my 2 gauge pod much better than the one featured in that thread. Mine point almost straight back, making them much easier to see. The top goes all the way to the top of the A pillar and in has recessed for the grab handles.

Where did you get them from? I need at minimum 2 gauges, someday a third for boost i hope.
