I've been looking at the Acura pod from Summit, but only in a single because I couldn't do the Turbo yet :( but I do need to monitor my oil pressure because my factory gauge is way out of spec.

I'm going to get my one-holer and make it work..........

I may have a connection to someone who does Thermo molding in WA...

Hey, if he wants to do this small batch stuff, I’ll listen. I got shut down by 3 places because I didn’t start with 1K to get on their production schedule.

I’m just not interested in getting in deep on a bunch of outdated pillar pods when PLX or a Android do all the same w/o the vision loss out the A-pillar, let alone 3) 2 1/16” gauges.

PLX aren’t cheap, but an Android is ~25% the cost.

If you can convince your guy, I’ll keep refining the positive I have from the fiberglass & tinfoil mold we took.

I’m about to drop another $5K in my sled plus Summer King & Coho / crabbing season is coming, that’s really my priority TBH.

I would buy one. I have two pods and have been looking for a way to do three. I have almost resorted to hacking three single pods together, but yours with the grab handle would be awesome.

I'll reach out and see what I find out

Morning, do you have a part number for that single pod? Thanks

Morning Mud :flipoff2:

Any updates on the gauge pod?

I've been looking for that Acura elusive double, can't seem to find one. I stumbled on this thread a 3 gauge pod while retaining handle sounds awesome.

I'll just plug the holes I don't need until I building a motor and turbo up.

Great read everyone!

I currently have been using the Acura triple pod. It never fit good so several years ago I purchased two Autometer Single Gauge Pods for the 80 Series. The part number 15413 is no longer listed on their website. You may want to call them to see if it is still available. A web search has several links that may still have some in stock but many show out of stock.

I was going to find a way to mount the two pods overlapping each other but never got around to that project. I might be willing to part with one of them if interested.

Hi guys,

Did someone on this thread say they cadded the 3 pillar gauge and could print it on a 3D printer? If that happened, can I buy a printed one from you?

I should design a set..
Pitter Patter...

I'm gonna toot my own horn a bit here, but I used to have the A-pillar gauge pods, and it was too much inline with your line of sight for night driving. Twisty icy winter roads where you really need good night vision and the gauges lit up didn't work for me. I modded stock gauges and put small LED units behind, hot glued'd in with small windows cut through the gauge and I'm content with that alternatively.

I’m amazed this still has any validity with the center consoles you can buy now, let alone going to PLX or Android -format displays.

It’s ALOT of real estate on the windshield to do this - my mock-up had me totally rethinking the placement, and it hugged tight the 2-1/16” bezel ring, in fact it might overlap some brands like Autometer vs how tight VDO pilot series kept the trimrings.

:meh: - maybe a single critical like the pyrometer, but 3 on the pillar sounds better than when you actually hang one.

I’m just putting that out there as I did work w/ one & came away happy I didn’t take it all the way.
Just my op. :::flame away :hillbilly: :::

What do you mean? Are you talking about center consoles that can be used to monitor things instead of gauges?

@Puffin - yep, either a Delta type console or running a Android screen or the PLX guages under a single DIN radio / etc.

I’d sooner even rig something to hang from the domelight pod / roof switch rather than go A-pillar.

Seriously, go run say near 2 strips of duct tape on the outside of the glass - that area is what you give up as a blind spot. Just to mock up the loss.

I was a fan until not only seeing how much you lose / need to adapt to - but esp w/ either going Android-based screen (can double as a Bluetooth to stereo) - or PLX in the center via a Delta or whoever else console to keep all the windshield.

IDK, it’s just my opinion but technology & center console vendors made going A-pillar obsolete.

—Plus with either Joey’s snail or a modded S/C - the A-pillar setup screams “probably good 80 to steal” — In the present political climate that‘s a factor / (cashless bail & light on crime states) & why I drive the Tundra alot more since replacing one is a nothing-burger compared to my 80.

Again, more of just my opinion. Nothing more.

Hey i tried to send you a pm with my thoughts on this… but your inbox is full. I completely agree on gauge pods and am nit a fan of random gauges allover the dash either. Is there a solution that will read most probes and senders and display on either a tablet or a headunit? My cruiser is 91 model hdj, so pre obd.
