A little extra room for 35's ... Has anyone else done this?

I couldn't see any reason not too... with the help of a good friend of mine we gave it a go. I can now drive on the road with 35" tyres, with virtually no lift. I have the lift kit here to put in though for obvious reasons. This won't negate the need for lift in an off-road application, but every bit of clearance helps ;)

Also found a little something that needed fixing... see if you can see it in picture 1 haha, I was wondering what that little rattle was....

So you lopped a corner off of the pinch weld and then covered it up? Looks nice. So is that where the tire was originally hitting? Why not just hammer it down? What about the rear?

Also, make sure you cover that body opening back up though so you do not get lots and lots of mud and water in there.

Yeah if was hitting there quite badly, i decided that rather than just hammering it back I'd take as much off as i could so there was plenty of room for the tyres during articulation.

I'm in the process of refitting the wheel arch liner, it has to be modified a little bit to make it seal up nice. Nothing a pocket knife can't fix haha.

you can just take a hammer and knock it over, no cutting needed. Yes, Hoser, Spressomon, 1loudLX, they've all done that modification in some way.

does a tire count as a hammer?

Good idea! Ya, my guy cut the steel away and we re-tucked the liner inside the steel. Looks better than just bashing.

Nice, yeah I considered the hammer but I thought I'd make it look pretty seeing as it wasn't much extra work. Have you got a photo of how you've tucked the liner back into the gaurd? I'm still working out the best way to re-secure mine.

have you contated SPRESSO on his BL lift? its cheap for another 1' lift.

The 1" body lift doesn't negate the need for trimming/compacting the seam on the rear side of the front fender. However for more suspension travel (or more conservative CV and steering component angles) and higher speed runs in the desert its proven to be a worthwhile mod for me.
