The circuitry is very simple and since I was going to re-upholster my seats I figure it would be a good time to look at this as a modification. Just wondering if anyone had done it.

Lol for some reason your post made me think of that instantly.

Finding the heater element should be easy enough. Then I bet you could mount the switches to the backside of the center console if you don't have controls there already. I think wiring power would be the biggest headache but if you have some experience with that I'm sure it could be done. What a classy idea.

I've done the front seats in several older vehicles, once I had a car with them I wanted them in everything.
There are plenty of kits on ebay and elsewhere, fairly easy to do. The back seats shouldn't be much more complex.

Well, I was able to get a used set of switches and seat heaters with 6-inch pigtails from a part out here on MUD. When the weather warms up, I am going to pull my interior to soundproof, detail, and install rear seat heaters. I am looking to document this for the forum. For now, I will be looking to install the same switches used for the front in the knockout in the rear of the center console. I may have to come up with a used front gear shift console so I can cut out the area where the switches mount and reattach to the knockout (Glue), so they snap into place. I welcome any suggestions for better switch location or materials to make this job go smoother and more professional.

This is on my "to do list" for my primary '80. I seldom have people in the back seat, but the dog rides back there and he is a thin skinned summer sissy and LOVES heated front seats when he gets to occupy one. ;)

Mark...
