Looking for assistance for an AC kit for FJ40 with a Chevy 454 engine. Not a lot of room for anything under the hood. Thanks

is that Rick's old rig? I saw it many years ago in his garage, and yes it was snug in the engine bay.

Back in the 1970's-80's guys with big blocks were accidentally cracking transfer-cases (at the idler shaft) without trying, soooo they had to absolutely "baby" their rigs, couldn't have much fun with those rigs- - -just saying.

It's more fun to drive a slow rig fast, than a fast rig slow! :steer:

..anyway, It'll be interesting to hear the responses. I've been thinking of adding A/C for years and could use some convincing one way or the other.

That looks like a SBC, based off the valve covers. It just has dual batteries and fenderwell headers that are taking up a lot of space in the engine compartment.

....unless it's a big stroker motor like what is offered by NRE or similar.

Yep, that's a SBC. Please unwrap those Headers before they absolutely "melt" inside the wrapping. Headers that are wrapped inside insulation develop cracks throughout. Drag racers didn't have a problem with wrapping the Headers because they were not driving the rigs all day long.
