With the A/C on there is a lack of power when I accellerate like when passing or merging on hwy. If I need the extra power I turn the A/C off then turn it on back on again after I don't need the power.
Is this normal of do I need a TRD SC?

This is normal for most vehicles... even my S4 with 320hp loses some spunk when the AC is on. Old Audi 5000 cars had a full throttle switch that turned off the AC when, yup, you guessed it, the throttle was depressed fully, saaaaay during a pass. Get the supercharger anyway...

I will just put a cut switch under the throttle so when I floor it the A/C cuts.

At 241k mi, I think my motor would need a face lift first....

IIRC from reading one of the manuals the 80 is also suppose to cut the AC at full throttle

It will cut on you 1FZ folks when your cooling system self destructs and eats you head gasket too. ;)

Yes this is normal, the A/C compressor consumes considerable power when it is running. Although it is normal, get the turbo not the supercharger and you will never worry again about power! Okay, ducking now so all you SC'ed fawkers can flame away!
I came across this new AVO Turbo MAF will be selling for the FZJ while I was surfing the other day - what do you guys think?

Wonder how it will compare to the Safari....at least we can get this one (soon)!
