who do you think posted the pic on the back of the shirt? ;)

Here’s my official pitch for making GMRS as the official communication means going forward. There plenty of east to use and inexpensive radios available now. Even handheld units perform better than a lot of CBs. No tuning of antennas either!!!

I don’t know, but I hope it ends on Sunday agiain. That that worked out really well for us coming all the way from Ga.

This x10. I hate the CBs. If people can afford to register and make the trip I think they can afford better radios.

Ok then everyone get your amateur radio license :)
I know I know, but it’s only $70. Start saving today and it’s only $6 a month before HIHX.

Also worth noting that GMRS doesn’t require a test. Just buy the license. It’s so much better than CB....

For real. I bet if the $70 was added to registration fees it might actually increase the time registration took to fill up. Maybe even up to 4 minutes 🤯

Yes! We took our time and broke camp stress free Monday morning. Being able to have a full day on the trail Sunday and not rush packing after was awesome. Especially when 2 of us are balancing fans!

There were only a few folks left hanging around, but what a difference! All the help made a huge difference in my planning my next move. Thank you guys, I appreciate it and I know @aaronrules does too.

I have a free tent and a $60 sleeping bag. I better save up for a new radio so I can attend.

- I borrowed a handheld HAM from @Bloomer to "monitor" trail announcements. That thing worked great- crystal clear.

DITTO that CB's S U C K. $35 for a handheld TRI band HAM is cheaper than a case of craft beer- or admittance to the Soaking Pools 🏊‍♂️.

Credit to my lovely daughter Sarah for taking all the photos while I attempted to drive.

That’s a dope hat! #toyotafreaks

I wonder if there is a way that the license for GMRS can be included in the registration and all attendees get a license? I’m still on the road...so I’m thinking out loud more than anything. I’ll have time to research after today.

You have to go through the FCC website to get a GMRS license. I have one, but they are not needed for the lower powered frequencies operating on FRS.
