I have a '99 LC with 292k miles that I just got back on the road. The main key was molded to a black fob with 3 buttons, lock, unlock and panic. Of course the fob has broken off the key. I have the fob attached to a spare key because the rig will not start without the fob. The fob is in poor condition and, using Murphy's Law, will fail at the most inopportune time. I want to buy two new fobs so I have an extra one when I can't find my keys. The tag that identifies the key set is long gone. What do I have to do to make sure I get the right fobs.

Go on EBay and search for 1999 Land Cruiser key shell. You will find several uncut empty key shells for sale. I bought 2 for $3.33 each with free shipping. I had them cut at Ace Hardware using the broken key shaft and then transferred the interals, which includes the anti theft transponder and remote electronics. Works fine.
As long as you still have the old key pieces, including the electronics, you should be fine. Be sure to get the Land Cruiser key and not the Lexus internal laser cut key. Just compare styles to what you have.

My problem is the keys are in good shape. I need the theft transponder and remote electronics.

If so, and you still have the remote guts and transponder to crank your truck, you can transfer it to new shell.
Another option is to go to the dealer with your VIN number and they can get you a key.
Post a picture of what you have may help.

My Fob has been crushed and I do not trust it. I will contact suprarx7 and see what can be done. I need some new fobs and the electronic guts. For Dwight S, the fob is the same one in the link. Thanks for the help. I now have a place to start.
You need a new 'FOB' for the broken one you have now. Just transfer the 'guts' (electronics) into the new fob and have the key cut. You can then purchase one or more keyless entry keys (that include the electronics) have them cut and you can program them yourself using your original master key.
I would just like to change the broken shell. Can you just buy a case and use your already cut key and internals?
