1999 all standard: Alternator went out and had a local specialist rebuild it with all new parts. Newish battery only a couple of months old. Remained charged while I replaced alt. Just buttoned it up and tested it out.

14.22v and engine continued to run after removing battery positive terminal. No codes but the battery light stays on.

Will it take some running time for the light to come off or how do I reset it?

The alternator repair shop said that the rectifier had gotten hot and blown. Could easily tell by the black on the back of the unit and charred main wire on the alt which became disconnected.

Could this have fried or done something to the 3 wire sensors that plug into the alt? I can't get the battery light to go off but vehicle and readings have been fine since the rebuild and new battery.

I've done an OBDII Protocol ISO 9141 scan and it doesn't show any codes at all.

Check ALT S fuse in fuse block that’s connected to the posi terminal of your battery- see if it’s blown

Thank you. I checked and the fuse is still good.

It only wants to connect with ISO 9141 and I couldn't find that voltage reading. I can try again.

I had tested the voltage at both the alternator and battery and both were fine at least.
