Hi,

Badly need everyone's guidance right now and greatly appreciate any assistance. Already did my research and replaced the EFI relay/Fuse but still no CEL when place key in "ON' position.

Checked and there is +12VDC inside thru the brass phillips head screw inside the box.

Checked visually and with voltmeter/continuity all fuse (Engine and Driver Kick panel) and replaced the 15A blade fuse/link, still no CEL.

Both EFI Relay and EFI fuse has been replaced and still no CEL.

Also, Signal lights, Park light, Hazard, Wipers and dash works but no Headlights, Radio and Horn???

It was running earlier then all of sudden stall then never started...

I know this issue is already beaten down to the ground but appreciate any help right now. Thanks.

Check your Fuseable link?

There's +12V in the Fuseable link... all fuses/relay are determined good but still no CEL. Is there any short fix to get the truck to start, its in my side yard and my good City sent me Violations/Summons for placing the truck on the yard hence need it moved ASAP :(

btw, NLXTACY when is Fire Extinguisher Mounts back in stock and thanks.

Is there power at the B+ terminal in the diagnostic connector box? Is the connection good at the big single wire connector (Y/R) between the intake and the distributor?

Yeah thats not a good enough test. Wiggle the fuseable link around. Not saying that is the issue, just process of elimination.

Soon. I have a few things going into production and will likely group these in at the same time. I'm working on it.

Thanks Tools R Us/Kevin, will check this one and let you know.

Thanks NLXTACY, didnt want to wiggle as the 20+ year old plastic bracket might crumble... will wiggle it and let you know if CEL would show up.

If there isn't power at the B+ term and you need to move it, puting a jumper from the battery hot to the B+ term should get you a running rig, will need to remove to turn it off. We have driven them back from the trail (and more) this way.

@masayahin That plastic box is called the junction block. Available all day long along with the fuseable link from @beno and myself. I wouldn't worry about damaging it especially if it meant getting to the source of your issue.

Are attempting to claim that they didn't come from the factory with a zip-tie and/or electrical tape holding the cover on? :confused:o_O

Could be two separate issues. The no start issue could be a faulty crank position sensor. Double check the connection and the sensor per FSM instruction.

Maybe try jumping the 3 fusible links to see if it'll start? I wouldn't run it like that very long at all, just to see if it starts.

I would try Tools suggestion as mentioned above. We did this on my rig a few years ago, and it really saved my bacon.

I'm having a similar issue. My 80 wouldn't start unless i wiggle around the fuse link. but then, it'll misfire like crazy and no CEL (its normally ON)
I ordered a new fuseable link from my local toyota dealer and hopefully that will solve the problem...

Thanks Tools R Us and NLXTACY.

Tried the easy one first, wiggle'ing the Fuseable link and CEL did not even blink.

Measured the B+ terminal in the diagnostic port and it was dead, so tried to wire tap it and sure thing CEL showed up and started at first crank.

What would have caused the issue? I wanted it fixed so I could drive it out already.

Again thanks for the feedback and awesome folks.

I owe Tools R Us and NLXTACY a nice cold beer!
